Why order 4 things in one month that you don't want? Just makes things more expensive for the rest of us.

----------

Totally! Too tempting when most of the stuff arrives in one day!

and i always pay the $3.99 to get it the next day or even the $8.99 (pissed they took away $3.99 saturday) to get it saturday. I just looked at my last 6 months....and I have 57 orders =/

As an Amazon Prime member, I can confirm the above is correct. If the item is defective, does not fit, not the same as advertised, etc., Amazon covers the return shipping. If, however, you merely changed your mind, you pay.

now that I think about it, you guys are right. I guess I never notice I pay for the return b.c it is deducted from the refund amount. I always just print their "prepaid" shipping labels, not thinking about the deduction from the refund amount. I guess it comes from ordering so much that I do not pay attention.

I hardly use the $3.99 shipping but most stuff still arrives in one day if I order early in the day!

I keep hearing this but every interaction I have had with them has been awful.

You're the exception, not the rule. Amazon will gladly pay for every single return you have if you think something is wrong or defective with the product. And if you simply want to return it because you changed your mind, they'll gladly set up the return for you using THEIR shipping rates instead of making you find your own. No one comes close to Amazon in regards to customer service.

I always seem to be ordering right at 6:00 pm, which is pretty awesome it still comes the next day. Easily the best $39.99 I have spent. Hopefully we will be able to airplay the prime videos to appletv soon. Granted I just use airplay mirroring on my mac now.

Agreed. Amazon's CS is impeccable.

Totally agree. Their CS is pretty awesome.

And that's exactly how their return shipping policy works.

Because they were not listed. Correctly, not my fault......
As For making it more expensive for the rest of you guys not true.

The last that I thought from Amazon was a touch lamp which I paid about $70 for. The problem is it goes on and off by itself all night long which is annoying yes I'm going to return it I no I didn't pay for shipping

Um, who do you think pays for this free return shipping? The shipping fairy? They charge slightly higher prices for all of their items to make up for costs like that.

Of course you're not paying return shipping for a defective item. But, if there was nothing wrong with that lamp, and you selected "No longer needed/wanted" or "Accidental order", you will have to pay for return shipping.

Just remember when you buy from Amazon, they do accept returns s do not be surprised if the next item you get from them was returned by someone else:eek:

And before you know it alls say Amazon would never do that, they do. Both Amazon and places like B and H will resell items they deem to be as new and in perfect working order. It is a fact of life.

Amazon only resells returned items through their "Warehouse Deals" site, or you can find them listed as "Used" (for example, USED-Like New) on their main site, but the seller will show as Warehouse Deals. They will not resell a returned item as new.

Yes, this is also true. Forgot to comment on that untrue post.

And I've bought a few things from Amazon Warehouse. They've been in great condition. Last thing was a lighted cover/case for my kindle. It was 50% off and good as new.

Sorry I don't believe that I just got a touch lamp which was obviously used and flickers on and off every few minutes kind of ridiculous so that's definitely not a true statement

I have a Prime account too and I did have to pay return shipping on an item about 2 months ago. If you select that you changed your mind or something to that effect, you do pay return shipping. I try to buy mostly Prime items when I do purchase something.

That's untrue Amazon never charged me return shipping I buy weekly.

I think you will find it is true.
I had ordered an item from Amazon (directly) and I'm returning it at the moment, for which I will be charged shipping (they deduct it from the refund).
Not saying that its wrong, since it was not a fault on their part etc, just a change of mind, but they do 100% charge for shipping.
Bear in mind this is Amazon themselves. Things may be different with other sellers on Amazon.

That is simply not true. If I repacked a camera lens that I have used for a week or so and have everything like it came from the factory and my reason for retuning is that I just did to want anymore, Amazon will take a quick peek, at best, and sell it as new to the next buyer. I have received such items from Amazon, a DSLR who had finger prints on the back LCD and the warranty card was filled out.

Sorry but you are wrong. It is common practice. They do not know you have used it but as long as it is as new, it will be resold as new.

Believe what you want, but this is wrong. If the box is not opened then they will sell as new. If the box is opened, it will sell as used on Warehouse Deals. The only used items I have EVER received from Amazon, were items I ordered as used. I've been a Prime customer for 4 years and an Amazon customer for several years before that and average around 80 orders a year (most orders have more than one item). I think i'll stick with my personal experience over your conspiracy theory.

does Apple pay for return shipping? I ask because I am quite a ways away from any near Apple store so returning it there wouldn't be feasible.

Wouldn't matter if you lived next to the Apple Store ... Online sles and in store retail sales are treated like 2 completely different companies when it comes to returns! Dumbest things Apple does IMHO. If you buy online it must be shipped back to return.
