Fed Ex vs UPS
Strange, I think, how it appears that some iPad (Minis) are shipping via Fed Ex and others UPS. Wonder if it is tied to your location. Before my last move I detested UPS and their service. I have always, until recently, gotten the "dump and run" and late evening (last stop) delivery among other delivery issues. Fed Ex had always been my shipping company of choice. Fed Ex always delivered early in the day and actually knocked on the door or rang the doorbell when dropping off the package. Now, I'm seeing improved service and delivery through UPS. Guess one's service is "tied" to the UPS driver assigned to their location. That said, I'm not dreading the iPad Mini UPS delivery

Smart Cover was just delivered by fed ex. Not a big deal but gives me an idea size wise what the mini will feel like
Did you have to sign for it? I think mine is going to be delivered today also, but i'm at work! Going to take Friday off though for the iPad.

My brother lives in Memphis, a hub for UPS, & his Mini is coming UPS. I found his using the track by reference thing. I'm in Little Rock & am hoping that my Mini will come UPS. We live in a small gated subdivision & UPS always has their gate code. FedEx here farms out their home express delivery & those guys never have their gate code & it's hit or miss if I get my deliveries from them. I wish they had a service like UPS' My Choice. It's free & they text me 24 hours before delivery & then again when the package is delivered. Love it.
still preparing for shipment and i pre-ordered 1 minute after pre-orders went live last friday...
My brother's Mini still says "preparing for shipment" even though it has shipped. They won't update or send the tracking number until Wednesday, I think. You will definitely get yours Friday.
Lots of luck with that being the case. hopefully it won't.
funny thing is that UPS says that a signature is required for my cover delivery but not for the mini itself.
Got my Smart Cover today and dispite Apple's site still saying "Preparing to ship" I found my Mini on the UPS site by reference tracking as it's on it's way!!!!!
That tends to happen more often than not. It happened frequently during the iPhone5 shipment where people all of a sudden got a "out for delivery" status day or two after leaving Alaska.
16GB Black Mini
Ordered 5:15am first day. Picked up yesterday in Pa. Says it will deliver 10/30 by 3 pm. It also has "hold for future delivery". Who knows. It will get here. I will leave a pre-sign out there tomorrow. Don't want to miss it if it does deliver.

Mini still shows delivery by 11/2 but has not shipped yet. The cover changed to delivery for tomorrow though is en-route but in Korea!
Yeah that brought up the .30 kg smart cover only. Thanks though. I'll keep checking though.

this is the iPad 4 btw but still should get it friday like it says in the email.
