LOL! I'm an idiot.
I just realize that the tracking info I am getting when tracking by reference is the free smart cover I am getting. Crap. So every time I used my number to check tracking via reference I get the smart cover shipment. Anyone know of another way to confirm my iPad tracking?

The other one is probably UPS if it doesn't say shipped.
Account number left blank, put phone number associated with apple ID as reference number. My order status on Apple.com has been stuck at preparing for shipment since Saturday night..

My ipad mini shipped via FedEx while my smart cover shipped via UPS, so putting my phone number into track by reference on FedEx will bring up the iPad mini tracking info, while putting my phone number into track by reference on UPS brings up my Smart Cover tracking info.
Anyone know what "Event Shipping" is? :/ ordered on the 26th but at around 8:30 AM EST. It's preparing for shipping.
Can see the serial in my support page but unable to find shipping, and not charged.

Any thing above 50 bucks is free shipping for Apple. They won't charge you extra for shipping.
Event Shipping just means that your ipad will be delivered on the day of the launch day.
Mine has been stuck at "Picked up" in PA for a few days now. I expect it to move to my state, NY, tonight or tomorrow.
Me too. I'm 60 mi from Middletown, so I'm guessing mine will spend its 4th night there. Launch clock probably resumes tomorrow.

ugh I wish I could find my tracking information or get my tracking information from Apple. The mini is listed on my support page (even though I can't seem to find that page again) so I have a serial number, so it has to be somewhere in transit, I would think? My order status says Event Shipping so Im assuming Im getting it Friday.
I just wish something would change/move....something. I have been waiting too long for this. I wish my case would ship early as well, but dont expect that until mid/end of November.

Same here, man. I was hoping I'd be able to watch the tracking info as it was delivered from China to my house, but it seems to have originated in Middletown, PA, so no fun for me. Just days of waiting only to see the same status since last Saturday. It'll most likely start moving tomorrow/tomorrow night, I mean, it only has to come to Massachusetts to get delivered to me, and Middletown isn't that far of a drive, let alone a flight.
Nope, I ordered a 32 gig black & slate + a dark gray cover.
I ordered a few minutes after the online store reopened. I got the cover today, but my oder still says "Preparing for Shipping"
I even tried the serial number/phone references with UPS & Fedex, but no luck there.

...refresh...I ordered a few minutes after 12 AM. Status on Apple site is still preparing for shipping. They charged my card yesterday, though, and it shipped from China on 10/29. It has been in Louisville, KY since early 10/30. I can't believe I have to wait two more days.
I live in an apartment and I believe when the package arrives I would probably still be at school. Usually UPS/USPS/FedEx delivers to the front desk and the clerk would sign for it, and they will call me so I can claim it. Is it any different for Apple products? Will they need me (and just me) to sign for it? So will I need to print out a pre-authorization form and hand it to the clerk?
