Alright thanks for the prompt reply. Also does anyone here think Sandy will affect deliveries to unaffected states? I live in Minnesota.

I think it's ridiculous that it's almost Thursday, my iPad Mini is supposed to arrive Friday, and I have "Preparing for Shipment", no tracking, serial/phone don't work for UPS or FedEx. Seriously pathetic.

Smart cover arrived today but of course they came in the middle of the day when I'm in work so just go the 'slip of doom' when I arrived home. No Fair!

i was just trying to be funny! Since everyone is trying to get their tracking numbers! I believe in Apple when they say deliver 11/2 it will be there unless they fire someone then delay it for next month! Lol (itunes 11)

I am getting a little worried about mine. It has been stuck in middletown PA for days and when I checked it today it says EXCEPTION. I dont know if they put an exception on it because they are holding it or if the weather there is gonna cause a delay....
I get the impression that many of you have not been thru this before....I have ordered every apple product from the online store since the ipod in 2002...and NEVER had a problem getting it on launch day. There are numerous posts here of past launches, how FEDEX sequesters shipments in staging areas so everyone get them on launch day. The reporting system gets clogged, but the packages arrive to 98% of the people who they promised. It has been written up in trade journals how efficient it is..so have some faith. If you are home on friday, or have done the pre-sign, you'll get the package that day,...and never before either...

That's good to know. this is my first on phone order of a launch and it's amazing how crazy it is over here watching people watch and track.
I read it says even so that means, they have it set for a specific time and it's not going down until that time, I suspect.
They went down to fix the web site when it was time and they were back up on time for the ordering so, why are people trying to make other people get in a frenzy like maggots to dead meat.
The problem is I CANNOT do a presign until it gives me the button to do so. I cannot do that until their page says it's actually shipped. I worked tomorrow all afternoon/evening, and the same for Friday. So if it's not there to be presigned for when I get off work Thursday, then I won't be able to presign. They should be capable of getting this done a few days in advance because some people have jobs.
My debit card was charged for 2 iPads yesterday but the status has not changed. I still have faith for delivery on November 2nd.
In cases as such, I say, you will undoubtedly either tell the dog to open the door or get someone else to do it. or, it's back on the truck and you'll have to pick it up at the FedEx pick up. At least it will be in your hands. They are doing the best they can and they do know people have to work and i'm sure that's why it may be a signing issue. Protection.

I received the smart cover on tuesday, but I'm still getting the preparing for shipment message, with a 11/2 delivery. Anyway, I was just checking to see if other people were experiencing the same problem. Oh well, if it comes on time, cool; if not, it won't be the end of the world.
Still peparing for shipment and fedex says it's still in PA. I imagine it'll make its way to Dayton overnight Thursday
What city is it delivering to? Mine has been in Middletown for about 4 days, no exception yet, and it's delivering to NYC.
The last update I have is my mini arriving in Louisville, KY at 1:32AM on 10/30. It seems they're taking their sweet time to make sure it's not delivered before Apple's November 2nd date
