Now I am glad a decided to take tomorrow off to ensure I can sign for it!
 
After seeing this for 2 days ">>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later." I called UPS and they said my iPad Mini (shipped on the 28th according to Apple) was never shipped and they told me to call Apple. So I called and, after I was on hold for 30 minutes the guy on the phone told me it was shipped on the 28th (already knew this) and that UPS gave Apple the tracking number for the package. Also he said that if my tracking number doesn't work by tomorrow Apple will start a investigation on UPS as to where my freaking iPad Mini is...
Also, I'm from Canada. If my package was lost I'm going to be so pissed off.

mine is an overnight truck drive from Louisville hub to Greensboro hub and then to local hub. Prob won't leave until 11pm or so, just to keep me checking every 15 mins.

I had this same issue, but I am in the US on my iPad 4. However, about 5 minutes ago it finally showed up with the first scan, but it does say shipped Oct 28 for overnight shipping. I think UPS picked them up, but because there is a hold for them not to be delivered till 11/2 they are just now scanning them into the system. Mine didn't come from overseas either, so it was local stock. Which is likely the case with yours. Most that were able to find theirs by using resource, came from China.

I also ordered an iPad Mini which is coming from China and it just left Louisville, KY. I've had a tracking number on it.

I suspect strongly that they come from Louisville to Canada as one shipment on one master shipment ID so that they can clear customs in one transaction instead of 1,000's (at about $35 per) of individual shipments and then when they get here they then scan the individual shipments into the system. That's when your tracking info will show up. There is only an "Arrival Scan" and a "Destination Scan" for the one I have that is showing up so far. No other history even though presumably it left China back on Oct. 28.


ETA - Both the iPad Minis are now showing scanned in Concord. It's just taking time to update the system.

UPS tracking finally updated. It is now located in Concord, Ont and will be delivered tomorrow!

Canadian Update

Just an FYI for any Canadians wondering. I'm located in London, Ontario. I pre-ordered my mini (16gb black) sometime on the 26th while the delivery range still read "Nov 2 - Nov 6". My cover was delivered yesterday. My mini read "Preparing for Shipment" from between about Tuesday or Wednesday until early this morning when it finally said "Shipped." The date it had for shipped (and the date on the invoice as well) was Oct 31st. My tracking number wasn't working until just about 10 minutes ago, when it finally showed up on UPS. Despite apparently shipping on the 31st, it's listed as being in Concord, ON, so, though it does not officially say it's to deliver tomorrow, I'm assuming I'm in good shape here.
 
Just missed my Smart Cover being delivered today. ButThe mini just arrived at Newark. Both of those bits of information tell me that delivery should should go according to schedule tomorrow even though I am in one of the biggest power loss areas from Sandy. Glad to have a generator and unlimited data to keep me rolling and sync my new mini tomorrow
 
In Vancouver, smart cover came yesterday, and UPS tracking shows my ipad mini is in concord right now

Ipad 64gb has been sitting in Ontario CA since Oct 27th, delivery Nov 2 before 3PM. I never could get a tracking from FEDEX beforehand trying all the tricks, no matter it will be here tomorrow:apple:
 
Anyone else's iPad Mini order still say "preparing for shipment"? Shouldn't it have shipped by now if it's going to arrive tomorrow? Update, Apple!
 
you guys are lucky ... well my tracking # still not work for montreal... i guess it will shop up until tonight :)
 
I figured I'd update: my tracking just updated a few minutes ago from nothing to it showing in an arrival scan in Concord, Ontario (Canada). Hoping it manages to hit Halifax, Nova Scotia for tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
 
Ya, my tracking number just registered with UPS as being in Concord, ON. Still no update on a delivery date but I would imagine it will be tomorrow now as it I am in downtown Toronto!
 
My mini just landed at JFK. I'm super excited. Looks like I'll be getting mine tomorrow. My Smart Cover arrived today, so hopefully they wont use weather as an excuse.
 
Mine has been sitting in Indy since 6am. Gotta get all the way to upper Peninsula of MI by tomorrow. Anyone had theirs move from Indy yet. Hope FedEx isn't keeping track of how many times I hit refresh.
 
Well guys I think I'm done hovering now. My iPad 3 showed the "Destination Scan" that both the iPad Minis I bought are now showing. That status did not update until the nice man with the brown truck delivered to me and then it soon said "Delivered."

So rather than beat a dead horse and keep checking something that is unlikely to change I shall relax now with the comforting thought that by tomorrow I will be playing with a new iPad Mini.

Likewise I'll be taking a break on this thread but I will check back in once they are delivered with a photo or two.

Mine has been - and it says expected delivery of Nov 21 :mad:

I ordered a white one 16GB - I don't think anyone in canada has seen this color be shipped yet?
 
My black 16 mini has made it to the destination sort facility about 15 mi from the house. Can not wait till Fed Ex arrives and hope it is early rather than by 3:00 PM tomorrow. Looks like many are now getting closer to final destinations. Soon be time to enjoy them.
