I believe by tomorrow there will be more specs leaked and maybe a confirmation about the price. I do believe that 9 to 5 mac gotta it right though.

I have an iPad 3, any seven inch tablet I buy would be a supplement device used for specific circumstances to read, surf the web & watch movies. If the mini is priced over $100 more than competitors tablets, then it needs to offer more.

$329 without a retina screen just isn't justified for me, most of my rebook purchases are via Amazon, I'm a Prime member & can also enjoy free videos, a $199 Kindle Fire HD will handle my needs for a smaller form factor device to use on public transportation & on planes.

It should have came with a retina display, unfortunately we wont get it until next year, cause that's how Apple does things.

Waiting for Google's announcement? I'd like if they phased out the 8gb and bumped it up to 199 for 16gb.

Yeah i'm waiting. Honestly i'm more excited for it than for Apple's keynote. I've been tempted by the Nexus 7 since it came out, and with all these rumors of a price drop of the 16gb, if they're true i plan on jumping on it.

I want to play around with Android, and spending $200 for a more than capable tablet is easier to swallow right now than spending $329 for a larger version of something i already have.

Like others have said, for that price it needs to have Retina in order for me to purchase at that price (which is looking unlikely). Otherwise, I'll just wait for the iPad 4.

Or lowering the price to 149.00 for the 8 GB version and $199.00 for the 16 GB. Now that would set off a fire storm for them, and bad news for Apple. Me thinks.. ;)

If rumors are true, the 8gb is being discontinued and discounted, with the 16gb taking it's place.

Regardless of price, the Nexus 7 isn't a threat to the iPad. People who want Apple will still go iPad/iPad Mini, but people looking to save some money might go for the Nexus. I believe there are more people in the former category as opposed to the latter.

Gps? The bigger iPad doesnt even have gps.

----------

It wont be priced less than the iPod touch

The iPad 3 with wireless plan does have GPS. WiFi models only do not

The iPad mini simply can't meet the prices of the Nexus 7 or the Fire... Those tablets make money based on selling content or in the Nexus' case, displaying ads. Amazon actually loses money per Kindle sold, but they make it back through their exorbitant book prices. With the iPad mini, you get what you pay for and you pay no more but to app developers...

Maybe Apple could, just for once deliver a cutting edge product with a cutting edge price. Goodness only knows they generate even profit relative to production costs to do this. Capture the market from Android and Kindle from the off!

That will never happen, it's Apple.

I didnt know that. Still, the iPad mini first gen won't have gps, apple likes to hold out, for the next one.

We will all know within 24 hrs if the first Mini's have it or not. I believe strongly that if Apple introduces the 3G or 4G version, they will both have GPS capable. Why ? Because one would be stupid in not having it, specially if the price as rumored is that high. ;) :D

I agree, would be very dumb of apple not to include GPS on the 3G or 4g minis.
