I wonder when they go on sale in stores.... Tempted to try and pick one up if they do rather than waiting for my pre order that may never show up!

Until Apple miss the delivery date provided in your order status page, there's nothing to worry about. Just need to be patient!
What bothers me is that a week ago it said "dispatched in 1-2 weeks" and it still says that a week later, almost implying that it could still be 2 weeks until it is dispatched.

I'm as desperate as the next to get my hands on my ipad mini, but really there is nothing we can do until it's shipped and we have tracking numbers. I would expect to start to see movement early next week.
It sounds like the US stores are getting them today, so you would imagine we would get them in store next friday - 30th
which matches my delivery date of the 30th-7th

Macmall in the states is fully stocked except the 16gb wifi models. I think this is rediculous that the Apple Store pages says two weeks for new orders, but there has been no change in the status for people who have ordered nearly a month ago. Our status says Late November, when the order pages says two weeks? Where's our update? 
Yes. My delivery date is from 26 to 3. I think by next week we ll have the tracking numbers.

It's been so long now, another week or so doesn't bother me.
I sold my Galaxy Tab 7.7 last week in preparation so I've been carting my iPad 3 wifi around with me. Two conclusions;
- I REALLY miss the convenience of a smaller tablet on the go. I always take my iPad/formerly Tab 7.7 to work with me, the benefits of being able to slip a tablet in an out of a coat pocket can't be overstated enough.
-Tethering is a ballache (my Tab was 3G), for battery reasons (iPhone 5) and the process of tethering kills spontaneous pick up and browse moments. Sooo glad I waited for the cellular option, my patience will be rewarded

Yeah I agree. I bought a 4th gen which I love but I need something will cellular as you say spontaneous pick up is no go. It's to big to lug around and while a wifi mini is to much compromise, the cellular isn't.

I actually had a wi-fi only ipad-mini and agree that tethering was an absolute pain in the preverbal. Fortunately for me there was a problem with the ipad mini and it had to go back - so this time I ordered the 3g.
Any news on nano-sims?
Lets focus on the delivery date not before or after. The delivery date is the aim to get your order.
Today I made an order for something available in stock. It was saying that the delivery will be on 26-28. Few hours ago the order is shipped and will be delivered by 26.
I believe this will be the same for the iPad mini.

I've bought a nano sim cutter to cut down full size sims. I tested it on an old dead sim, cut it down, then bunged it in my iPhone 5. It fits fine, although I couldn't test if its working as, like I say, it was an old sim.
I'll be using those Three 3gb 3 month sims off Amazon, about a tenner. Got one waiting ready but I don't want to activate it to test it and waste a week of the three months. I've used these sims for ages, for browsing Ive never used more than half the 3gb and they've often lasted 3.5 months. Barg. Any really data heavy stuff like streaming or downloading I tether to my unlimited plan.

, but I was skeptical about nano cutters as they cut into the metal. They fit right, just hope they work! I'm sure they will.Just picked up a 3 pay as you go Ipad mini Nano sim. Don't want to risk cutting after I botched my O2 sim for the iPhone 5
so i have a white and black 32G cellular on order, the black one just came forward a day to ship earlier (and it has engraving) so I suspect if you order black you are going to get it earlier than white orders.
Sounds like Friday deliveries generally. I really doubt anyone will get anything on Monday as nobody has hada tracking number yet I believe.
Disaster has struck. Google Nexus 7 cellular back in stock. My only reason for the Mini has gone. Pants. Looks like my cellular Mini is being cancelled in favour of the cellular N7. Can't justify the higher cost and poorer screen and specs. Oh well. Maybe next year. Nexus 7 cellular in stock and shipping early next week.
