I purchased the I-Blason back for $16.99 CDN. It seems pretty good so far and accommodates the ASK well. My only complaint is that there is a line between the 4th and 5th speaker holes for all four speaker sides. Not really sure why it’s there and it obscures a tiny fraction of the holes but doesn’t seem to affect sound quality.

Speck have updated their Balance Folio so that Auto Sleep / Wake now works as it should on the iPad Pro 10.5 inch. They probably fixed it some time ago, but all the reviews I found are quite old and so mention the problem from the initial production.

I really liked the functionality of the DeviceWear Ridge I had on my iPad Air and this Speck model is very similar.

Got today the Tech21 iPad Pro 10.5 Clear Case. It's definitely the best case companion for the Apple Smart Cover + Apple Pencil. After using the UAG Case for a coupe of months then switched to the KHOMO back case I decided to try the tech21 and thanks God I did. It's lightweight and also very protective. No bumps on the back and the matte finish looks awesome. Very happy with my purchase and it's definitely a keeper.

Mine was scratched to hell after 5 minutes on my desk. I'm using a Moko tpu cover for now until Burkley re-releases their leather cover.

Just received my case from Story Leather, the quality of the leather is amazing and fits perfectly. Only minor negative is the top and bottom are exposed, the price and it took about a month to manufacture/deliver. Overall a 9/10

Sorry to drag up an old topic/ thread/ post, but having recently gotten my IPP 10.5, I am now on the same search as you folks were. Since you have had this now for sometime, can you please share (1) how it has held up till now and (2) how heavy does it make the iPad - with and without the ASK (non leather/ leather) if you use one?

Thanks in advance.

Great review! I ordered the Tech21. In theory, Apple still offers this mobility with the new sleeve but what are you supposed to do with the sleeve when using the iPad Pro in a cafe, etc.? The beauty of the Silicone Case is that you didn't have to think about where to put it when using the iPad. Apple's insanely high manufacturing standards have spoiled us. 37+ pages of third-party case reviews and so far nothing measures up to the Silicone Case.

This is exactly what I do at the moment. IPP 10.5 with the ASC and the leather sleeve. Its worked well till now. I often use (especially when I am writing by hand) the IPP by laying it on the Sleeve instead of directly on the table. Having the slot for the Pencil is really convenient since I use the Pencil a lot.

I do have the Khomo back cover, but since a lot of my work involves reading/ annotating, I hold the IPP (portrait) and I find that having the back cover on makes it difficult to hold for long periods of time.

I am looking for a really thin back cover which I would like to keep on all the time. This will help me to use the Sleeve a little less in potentially damaging conditions (like cafes etc). But the key remains the weight. Whatever back cover I use has to be very thin and light. Unfortunately, cant do the "skin" thing as its not available when I am (to the best of my knowledge) and I am personally not too much in favour of "skins".

I have a silicone back for my 10.5 iPad but bought the below as a second case for my daughter to use the iPad on the plane. It's an absolute genius case if you mainly use the iPad around the house. To matter whether the surface is a table, uneven or even your belly the iPad will happily sit up without the need to fiddle with a leg or keyword.

IMO it makes the iPad as user-friendly as a laptop for several hours use. When you are sitting by a desk the iPad can be sat down at an angle too. I agree that it's not the most beautiful case but if you aren't bothered about having a naked iPad and appreciate comfort, give it a look. I don't even use my silicon back case anymore.

Quick question: Would you say that the IPP + Khomo back case + silicon ASC > in weight than the IPP + Tech21 back case + silicon ASC?

Basically, what I am asking is whether it is easier to hold (in portrait mode) in hand with the Tech21 case? Thanks in advance.

Edit: Is the holder for the Pencil removable?

I have both the khomo and Tech 21 with ASK. I would say it weighs about the same. The pencil holder in the Tech 21 is removable-- slides off.

Just got a iPad Pro 10.5 to replace my 12.9” for work. As others have noted case manufacturers really seem to not want to invest in this new size.

Has anyone found a clear/thin hard case that covers all 4 sides? I specifically do NOT want Smart Cover or keyboard support. I was able to find a hard case that covered all 4 sides for my 12.9” iPad but I can’t find anything for the 10.5. I know I could get a soft tpu case but I find those too thick and they begin to feel gross after a while.

For reference I just received this case in the mail: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...c-8c4a-420d-a4bf-a06e49b4e4fe&pf_rd_i=desktop

It is almost perfect but I still really wish I could find a version without Smart Keyboard support. I intend to use my iPad like a notepad with the Apple Pencil.

Check this one. It's expensive but it works the way you want:

Looking for a case with similar properties to the image attached. Soft TPU, flexible, thin fitting, works with smart cover.

I don't use my iPad in rough conditions very often and would like a cover I can leave on my desk and simply fit as and when needed.

Any recommendations?

Wow, after reading thru 45 pages of case posts, I'm not sold on any of them. I bought 10.5 IPP for my husband for Christmas along with an Apple pen. I'm very disappointed in the few case offerings out there that store the pen. So far I've come up with these two and wondered if anyone has anything good or bad to say about either. The ZuGu costs twice as much as the other; don't mind paying it if it's twice as good.

Any thoughts on either case?

Thanks.

Look at the function of each case and see which one will fit your needs? There are a few cases on Amazon with the pencil holder that will allow you to attach an Apple Smart Keyboard. Go to Amazon, do a search for iPad 10.5 pencil to see the choices. And then go to youtube to see a better view of the cases. I haven't seen up close the cases you listed.

Looking at the Zugu case on youtube, it seems to cover a lot of the iPad. I personally don't like how it covers the front of the screen with those leather like flaps. If I were to get a case like that, it would be the UAG if I needed something to hold a pencil. If not I would get a simple case and throw my pencil my gadget bag.

I ended up ordering the $25 IVAPO case on Amazon. It should be delivered today. I'll try to sneak a peak when it comes. It's a Christmas gift, along with the iPad and Apple Pencil which are also being delivered today. Not sure I can keep it a secret a whole month though! I'm pretty bad about that.

Just got my iPad Pro 10.5, is there a TPU case that covers all 4 sides that works with a tempered glass protector? Any color is fine, I just prefer red :D

Last week during all the sales I was looking for a new case for my iPad Pro 10.5. I currently have a folio type case, which is great for use at my desk because it has a nice way to stand the iPad at different angles when using my Magic Keyboard. However I want to start doing some gaming on the iPad and holding the Folio during gaming is a bit awkward as the front cover tends to flap around a bit. It's fine when just doing normal browsing, but during an action game I want something without the front cover.

So I found this on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073QH8D5T/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A31AQKFVC2XT71&psc=1

Similar cases are sold by a number of companies, but this color combo looked nicest to me, so I took a chance for $15 and bought it. Well, I received it today and I have to say the quality is outstanding. A friend of mine has an Otterbox Defender for his iPad Air 2, and this case has a better fit and finish. All the port openings are perfectly centered, and the lightning connector opening is very large and will easily fit any aftermarket wire. The power and volume buttons are nice and clicky, and the outer layer of the case is a nice grippy silicone.

There is no built-in screen protector on this case, which I prefer -- I hate those plastic protectors that don't sit flat on the screen. Also, there is no branding or logos on the case, which I also prefer.

If there is one slightly weak point it may be the stand. The stand is certainly sturdy enough once extended, and I'm using it right now as I type this post with my Apple Magic Keyboard. However, the process of extending and closing the stand seems as if it may wear out or break over time -- it could be a bit smoother. I guess only time will tell. But given the $15 price, if it breaks after 6 months I'll probably just order another one. It's a real bargain!

After three weeks with the Poetic TPU case, the feel became intolerable... picked up the Tech 21 from Apple and I’m finding it to be very good. It seems lighter and has a texture I prefer over TPU, and the edge protection is quite good. Holds the pencil very well, too.

Also enjoying the tech21. However the buttons are a pain to press, is there any way to make them less stiff? Just remove the case and start pressing like mad, just to break it in?

One point, Eric5237 is using KAKA New iPad Pro 10.5 = 9.4 ounces. Tech21 = 3.5 ounces. Slight but those ounces add up during a long read or browsing session. I think Tech21 does a fantastic job with protection. But no stand... There's always a trade off.
