The iPad supports USB-C Power Delivery and so does this dock. The iPad will negotiate with the dock for the highest profile they share and then the iPad will consume as much power as it needs. The Dock supports a max of 100W on USB-C Power Delivery, but it won't force 100W on all devices. That's not how USB or electricity works. Wattage message power pull and voltage measures power push. You'll damage devices by hooking them up to devices that deliver more voltage than it is capable of handling, but USB has signaling to prevent devices from receiving power at an unsupported voltage.
