I still haven't received my student coupon from Best Buy after a couple months.

I'm a bit confused on how this whole college discount works... I signed up about a month ago and got the email that says get coupons now. However when I click on it it says no coupons available.

How can I take advantage of the extra discount on this deal?

They usually last for a month then they email new codes. Check your junk or promotion box for newest email

I lucked out and got a beautiful screen its uniform

Also how are they dragging heels? 12.9 hasn't even been out a full year and it's an amazing first gen imo

Simple enhancements which are mostly software related.

Nothing really new to the Pro regarding ios10 and Apple had a chance to do simple stuff like bumping defaults for icons per line, giving us split-screen windows top and bottom in portrait mode, and making it easier to select/change which two apps you want in split window mode...to name a few.

Hardware-wise, I really wish the 9.7" supported usb3 as well. That would have been big.

I ordered a 128gb Space Grey w/ Cellular from with the $225 off. I haven't picked it up yet though. I am worried about the size coming from an iPad Mini 2 128GB with Cellular I use in the car and for reading on the couch every day. What do you guys think?? I have a Proclip Dash mount that I use the Mini with, obviously the Pro is going to take up alot more space.

I know what you mean and I think part of the answer would be in the question of how much do you need the pencil?

After going through the 9.7" devices, I recently purchased an iPad Mini4 and LOVED everything about it. Everything , except I found I really had a need for the pencil. I much prefer the form factor of the smaller iPad mini by a *long* shot. If Apple releases an iPad Mini 5 with support for the pencil, the 9.7" is up for sale and I am moving back to a mini.

What do you use the pencil for? I don't see myself ever using it.

Really struggling deciding whether to keep or return the Pro. $375 was a killer price, but still unsure about it.

Quick note taking, having people sign contracts and releases, and drawing/coloring during downtime.

I have the documents faxed to a MyFax account and open them as PDF, have them signed and faxed back. It made the pencil investment and move back to a 9.7 worthwhile.

None in specific. I've used iPads many times before but never owned one. I guess it's more of a nice-to-have rather than a must-have for me.
Just try it out for 14 days to see if it grows on you. For me, I can't live without my iPads (see signature) ;)

Guess this was too good to be true. I got my iPad Pro 9.7 today and finally got back from work to open it up... Everything seemed fine, then... Blegggh. The display has a problem where it randomly goes darker by a few % every few minutes, but then gradually goes back to normal... But then drops again. (I'm glad you asked, Auto-brightness is turned off.) ;)
Kinda sucks as all my BB are out of stock now, so returning and exchanging will have to wait for a little while. :/
Good news is that I LOVE and prefer my 12.9" more, despite the supposedly more "accurate screen colors" the 9.7" has. In fact after comparing all my art and looking at videos and such, I like the 9.7" but still prefer the better brightness and overall look of my 12.9" Pro, and also the Mini 4 looks better too.
As always YMMV. :)

Kal.

I'm having similar thoughts myself.

I splurged and ordered the 256gb version when I should have ordered the 128gb. The latter would have been the sweet spot. I would have spent more on the ipad2 than this Pro 9.7 in that case.

With only 2gb ram and usb2 supported...this iteration of the 9.7" iPad won't have nearly as long a life as one would like, I think. I said that in Oct after the reviews were in and it's still true now.

It's coming on Wed so I have to decide pretty soon. I'm on the fence.

If more people post that their screens have problems here though, I'm not even going to open the box.

I agree that the RAM and usb2 support is lame. I'm going to stick with my still working fine air 1. This sale is tempting though, no doubt about it.

I plan to use it to fill out time sheets for work and sign them as well as financial management and other things that I currently use a stylus for. I've experimented with the pencil a bit already, and I think it will make these tasks much easier, especially due to the palm rejection. That alone was pretty frustrating.

So I've pretty much decided...I'm not going to try it. The iPP 12.9 v2 is what I'm going to hold out for, as originally stated.

The bigger 12.9" screen will make comic reading a sheer joy and will best approximate the reading experience of the actual books. Anything less will just be a compromise.

So it's back to the ipad2 and my Samsung Tab pro 8.4...not that I left it in the first place. /grin /

I was tempted to switch to the 9.7 ipp from my 12.9 cellular but think I might hold off until v2. The 12.9 is great for watching shows etc but a tad too big to hold for comic reading etc plus those apps still haven't been updated for the ipp yet

Ordered my 9.7 iPP last night. It'll be nice to have a new iPad. My iPad 3 is still running good and looks new though. I guess I should see a good bump in performance.

I tried it out for today, but right away I got a feeling that I wouldn't use it enough to justify the purchase, even at the discounted price. It's still an awesome device, just not for me I guess :)

I just spent another hour at Best Buy comparing the iPad Pro 9.7 and the iPad Mini 4. For my usage, I don't think I am going to take advantage of any of the special / better features the Pro has over the Mini and web page text looked blurrier on the Pro. I got $225 off on the Pro 9.7, but have a week to pick it up, and needless to say I didn't bring it home with me. I'm going to look for a second hand mini 4 128GB w/ Cellular. My mini 2 is still kicking strong. There is a slight chance I pick up the Pro and try to use it exclusively for a week or so and see what I like better.

I use my Mini for browsing at home in the morning, bring it with me in whichever car I am driving for the day to use Waze for Navigation to and from work and then browsing at home the rest of the night. I haven't been travelling much, but I take my Mini 2 with me for the same purposes when doing so. I also use it to control my Hue lights and Harmony setup.
