Best Buy made me mad with this one. I've never had a problem ordering before and not once, not twice but three times they cancelled my order for "information not matching"'on 3 different credit cards. I called them and they pretty much said "too bad, idk why" and I called my bank and my bank couldn't figure it out either. ALL information matched my accounts.

I even used visa checkout on the last one, it authorized, Best Buy could see it had an authorization number, and they still told me they couldn't help and the order was cancelled. I actually really needed this for school and I couldn't save the money.

So this put a pretty bad taste in my mouth for Best Buy. I bought an $1100 open box MacBook on Thursday and might return it now just because all I've gotten is poor customer service and a lot of "idk, I don't care" kind of attitude. And I get if I was rude but I wasn't...

I was tempted to switch to the 9.7 ipp from my 12.9 cellular but think I might hold off until v2. The 12.9 is great for watching shows etc but a tad too big to hold for comic reading etc plus those apps still haven't been updated for the ipp yet

For me, much too big at 12.9" for anything but keeping it on the table.

Just waiting for the refresh then...whether it comes March 2017, Oct 2017 or later. Hopefully by then, Apple will have some tweaks for it and maybe shuffle the App Store to promote better apps too.

I had a similar experience and even though order cancels it invalidates the coupon code. Instead of shipping it to you select local store for pick up (assuming one is close by for you). Hope this fixes the issue. I totally understand the frustration.

Think we'll be able to stack this with the $100 student coupon? Probably not right...?
For everyone trying to stack with student, this worked for me:

I bought the 9.7 two weeks ago with the student discount. So it was $749 (128gb) - $100 at that time.

Yesterday I went back in store to have this new $125 discount applied to my purchase, as I was still within the return period. The manager did this without any question. So my net cost is now $749-$100-$125= $524. I'm not sure if it'll stack up front, but I managed to get both applied in reverse order.

Source/link please?? o_Oo_O

I don't believe that and they definitely won't happen because we only had the 1st 9.7 inch iPad Pro in March this year.
Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I wrote. It is "tradition" that whenever there is a killer deal on an iPad, someone will say that people should NOT get in on the deal because there is an update (or even better deal) coming soon. I was just spoofing on that.

Last Sept/Oct when Staples had a terrific deal on the iPad Air 2, there was more than one person that said to hold off, that there will be even better deals on Black Friday *AND* the Air 3 was going to be announced in early Dec. Neither one happened. But there were a few who listened.

Unfortunately i was suppose to pick it up at a store, so this isn't the solution. I appreciate it greatly tho! Thank you!

Just go to there student section of the site, sign up for student discounts (you don't need an edu) and pick a university, like Notre Dame (they are liars anyway) and you will get a link to the code in your personal email.
Then stack it on the $475.

And I was told to do that by an employee at the store in the Apple section.

Thanks for the tip. I missed the 2 day only sale price for $125 off, but did pick up one on Sunday for $100 off (plus the extra $100 off via the student discount....using your tip above). $549 for the 128 pro is still a good price. I managed to pick up one of the 64GB Air 2's last Fall when Staples was discounting them heavily for $449. I'm going to put that one up for sale on CR this weekend ($425). So, after everything is said and done, I'll have upgraded to the Pro With twice the storage for just an incremental upgrade cost. Sweet deal.

Perhaps having the store do the order for you would have worked? I have run into issues in the past with Best Buy and other retailers, because of the way they standardize addresses for shipping, billing, etc. Luckily not with my current address.

Also, the other thing that might help, if the issue is with them getting verification from your credit card company, is to give them a call. Let them know what you are trying to purchase and from where and see if they can flag it through the next time around.

My order was cancelled on Saturday immediately after I placed it and I still haven't gotten a refund to the Best Buy gift cards that I used. How long does it take?

That's a nice discount! I wonder how long it will be for someone to post to hold off on this deal because there will be a 9.7" iPad Pro 2 in September? ;)

There will not be a 9.7 Pro 2 in September or a 12.9 refresh for that matter. Highly unlikely. At the earliest, the 12.9 update will be at the second quarter of next year. Consumer exhaustion and the time line would not make sense.

I'll have to try this! Thank you

Nicely done *tips hat

i purchased one yday online for In store pick up with the current $100 off sale and $100 college student coupon...when I picked it up, the Best Buy associated told me I had an estimated refund of $30 coming back my way..SWEET deal

Great price especially when stacked with the EDU coupon!

I already picked up a 128 LTE 9.7 Pro from Verizon's deal and sold my iPhone 6 to Apple store for a refund to my Amex.

I absolutely love this device and look forward to picking up a pencil down the road.

You cancelled it, or did Best Buy?

I originally ordered a 128GB Wi-Fi version, then had second thoughts and picked up the 32GB version. Now I have both on the way and need to decide which to keep.

They cancelled it. Almost immediately after I hit the order button.

Possibly they ordered too late. I know I ordered mine on Friday, and it was such a good deal that the online system may not have been keeping track reliably with the amount of stock available.

I ordered mine @ 8am on saturday and again @ 8pm. Both times (literally within SECONDS) I received a "Thank you for ordering" and then a "cancelled" notice. I called my bank and they said EVERYTHING looks fine on their end, and all of the information that Best Buy had sent for Authorization looked correct. So I contacted best buy and they pretty much told me that I'm SOL. So, I emailed customer service and got back an email that said "We hear you have questions about college deals?" No....no I don't.... How about you read my actual email.....
