I didn't say they weren't too expensive, I said they were awesome computers. Laptops have surpassed desktops in 2008 to become the dominant form factor of PCs. With the rise of tablets and large screen smartphones, MBA-like Ultrabooks became the last sector of growth for a shrinking industry. But they became lackluster as more powerful pro laptops gained Retina screens. So consumers waited for their dream of a rMBA. But what came instead was another limited machine, the new MB. It was light and had at least a 12-inch Retina screen, but lacked in sustained performance. A computer to win over 11-inch MBA owners for sure, but not necessary 13-inch owners. Here comes the new MBP, it is even smaller than the MBA was, same weight less volume, it's got a nice big screen with P3 colors and even runs an external 5K display over a single cable with 40Gbps. It's an all new design and darn sexy in Space Gray. This is the consumer laptop we've always wanted, it just isn't priced right for the time being.Awesome redesign? I will reserve judgement until I've seen one and tried it. Personally I think they are way too expensive and will not sell well outside the core Mac fan base.
