Ended up finding a like new 128 GB wifi model on Swappa for $580 and pulled the trigger. Would have cost me $810 after tax if I had bought it new from Apple. So, absolutely no remorse here! The pencil, true tone display, and speakers are all fantastic upgrades.

I probably would have had a twinge of remorse if I had paid full price though. Apple's price hike on this model was a bit hard to swallow...

You mean for the portability factor?

As much as I can admire the 12.9 it's too damn unwieldy for me. I really like both options of either A) using it on the table as a computer or B) disconnecting it from the keyboard and holding it in two hands (using my thumbs to navigate while I hold the device steady).

I was already leaning towards the 9.7 for the better screen, weight, and price but the fact that Apple purposely disabled the split keyboard in the 12.9 made it a no-go as it is impossible to use via option B above.

Ok pulled the trigger.

Interesting how easy it was to find someone of craigslist willing to trade.

Craigslist is such a strange place. I'm trying to find a used Kindle, but t's nearly impossible or people want $100 for a Kindle Keyboard), but iPads at 50% off....

what was the trade out of curiosity?

12.9 ipp for a 9.7 ipp

Craigslist can be strange. I always ask lots of questions and only meet in public places.

There is a search notification feature that I don't see people talk about.

Set up a daily search for a specific item within a certain price range and you'll get a email notification.

Good way to find some deals.

Oh absolutely. You can see a thread I made last week, but sometimes I walk away from really good deals just because of the sketchy sellers. Still, it's largely as good of a place to sell as eBay (for 99% of items) and so much easier.

Got my 12.9 a few weeks go. I had an iPad Air 1 (that I was just watching tv on) that I was looking to upgrade so brought the iPad Pro to try at home because in the store it didn't seem worth it + too big. It took a week to get fully used to it and now it's *brilliant*. I love it. iPad Pro indoors. iPad mini 4 outdoors.

Sold the iPad Air 1 for £250 to offset the ridiculous £899 cost of the pro... So £650 new money. I had the iPad Air 1 for 2.5 years and got 43% back of what I paid - not bad. Maybe I'll get £400 of the pro back in 2 years when I upgrade... Fingers crossed but i doubt it.

Im using my iPP 9.7 much much more than i did my Air1, its crazy fast and wonderful to use. I barely touch my rmbp anymore, if it isnt for some heavy lifting i go for the iPP everytime.

No regrets
