Well now this changes ever thing. For me not sure about you but i was going too buy the iPad Pro 9.7" but from this report it only has 2GB of ram same has iPad Air 2 not worth the extra $100 Now if had 4GB of ram the yes it would be worth the extra. So no thanks

So Apple price this at $599 for the same space has iPad Air 2 bad apple vary bad Choice

Personally I think you're jumping the gun and should wait until you try it before making a decision. I doubt very much that having 2GB of RAM rather then 4GB will be that noticeable. It's just fine with the iPad Air 2. Plus there are many other features that make the upgrade worth while.

Essentially the pro 9.7 is for anyone that wants to use the pencil on a 9.7" iPad.

Except that it has 2gb ram instead of the 4gb that it should rightly have...I'm getting flashbacks of the iPad 3 all over again. / ha ha ha ha ha/

Anybody that buys this for the pencil feature *will* regret it.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU

They should, but then how does Apple explain the huge price jump?

.
They can't.

4GB of RAM is one of the major features that justifies the Pro moniker. Really disappointed by this...
Just like replaceable hard drives and expandable ram and discrete graphics. None of which are available on 90% of the pro laptops now.

This does change my view on getting the 9.7. Now it's a wait for the next 13 I guess.

Today the 2GB RAM might not be that much of a problem but it will shorten the lifespan of iPP 9.7. The main reason that an IOS device was not usable with newer IOS versions and newer apps was the amount of RAM. So I assume that the iPP 12.9 will last some IOS versions longer and that multitasking will be running better and faster on it.

So with 4GB of RAM and USB3 the iPP 12.9 looks definitely more "Pro" to me...(besides the bigger screen)

Oh well looks like this post will get closed soon has there all ready news about this on the front pages

Easy come easy go I gust I was hoping to be 1st with this news

When the 9.7-inch iPP was announced with a better screen (True Tone) and better camera, I felt like a sucker for getting the 12-inch iPP. With the less RAM and underclocked CPU, however, I'm feeling good about the 12-inch iPP. ;)

Honestly, I get the idea of "future proofing", but I think that 4GB of RAM is overkill for the vast majority of users on an iOS device.

Had the pro 9.7 came with 4gb RAM...it's conceivable that you could have rocked that for 10+ years.

Who knows what we will be using then...
