I have an Urban Armor Gear protector on mine, and it is great, but will be replacing it with the Proper Case (Wallee System) as soon as it is released. Will still use the UAG when out of the studio, but that is rare.

I use a Smart Cover, but I do often use my iPad Pro naked.

That's not what you meant? Oh.
[doublepost=1470785146][/doublepost]I think it's crazy that we buy these devices partly due to the beautiful design of Apple products and are then forced to cover them up. My MacBook Pro is naked but sturdy but the iPads/iPhones are so easily scratched these days, it's frastrating.....I just wanna be naked all the way but I'm also very very fussy and would hate to scratch any of my devices....

I love the feel of my Air 2 with just the Smartcover on it, but after 18 months of careful use it has some small dings and scratches, mostly on the corners, and they really bug me. So I decided to add the Silicone Case to my 12.9 when I got it this week. It only adds minimal weight and bulk, but of course it can't match the super slim feel of a naked Air 2.

Using different materials would be nice.

I find iDevices to be way too slippery to use without a case. I've got a relatively thin and lightweight silicone case similar to the Apple Smart Case on my iPad for added grip and for use as a stand. Cost me $5 from Amazon. It's not going to protect the iPad from strong impact but at least I'm less likely to drop it. This allows me to carry around the iPad without needing to keep putting it back in my bag.

That's the issue with Apple's 6,000/7,000 Aluminum, it scratches so easily. And to second that, once aluminum is scratched, there is no reversing it. The damage is done.

Apple's products are so sleek, I hate covering them, but scratches drive me insane.

How resilient is the back aluminum to scratches?

It's not resilient at all. Hairline scratches are common on Apple's 6000/7000 Series aluminum.

Exactly, I don't know why they don't? Probably due to the weight? The most study Apple product I ever owned was the iPhone 4/4s.....glass back and lovely to feel but it was quite heavy for such a little guy! You would think they would want their products on display...free advertising!!

I don't know why Apple gotta make products to make us feel like "oh shoot...I gotta be real careful.'

Fixed that for ya.

No case no screen protector or film on the back and no scratches. I do however use a Smart Cover for lap typing.

Hmm. okay. Any reason why not? or you're just not sensitive about scratches and stuff like that?
Just don't like cases or screen ptotectors and I've never had an issue with scratching. The products feels better with out to me.
I've also seen people's phones look more scratched up from cases then without. Junk being caught up between the case and the phone or iPad and doing more damage than protecting.

Oh okay. I guess some cases do scratch...i guess I prefer protection.

It is not so much that the case scratches but some are really bad about getting dirt/grit in between the case and the phone and that is what will scuff the phone. The soft gummy cheap cases are the worst for attracting dirt and grit.

Any case should be removed every once in a while and cleaned.
