iPad Pro Pre-Order Thread (Official Release)

Going with the LTE version, case & cover, applecare+..... pen sounds interesting but I'm not a graphics person and I don't actually see any use for it beyond that. Keyboard looks like overpriced trash and not sure a keyboard adds much value for general tablet use.
 
The official release says "available for ORDER", not pre-order as was clearly specified with the current phone release. I suspect order and ship, just like anything else ordered from Apple.com. But then, I've been known to be wrong, lots of times 🙂
 
Going to order a 128gb silver LTE .. and just a smart cover .. really don't need 128gb but need LTE .. and applecare+

No idea if I will keep it though

Absolutely agree. Very pleased with my Air 2 but I will check the iPP in the Apple Store on Friday and will probably buy one to try if they have any stock left. 32gb wifi only in any colour will do as I'm pretty sure to return it. It's
going to feel very heavy compared to the Air.

Haha! Exactly...I'm wondering if the dog will still be able to lay next to me on the couch when I'm using this thing! 😀

I'm also really glad that we're in Apple's holiday return window...gives us plenty of time to decide on it. 😉
 
For now, my plan is to snag the 128GB LTE version, in space grey. Will also get the pencil and smart keyboard.

Only thing I'm wavering on is the color.

The space grey promotional photo on Apple's iPad page makes it look incredible.

The closest size comparison for screen may be the Macbook 12" or the Samsung Pro. I don't know how much I'll have it on my lap with the keyboard. If I'm going to just constantly hold it, I may need to do some more wrist/hand exercises in the gym. 🙂
 
I've got a simple question that requires a simple answer:

During the pre-order on Wednesday, will there be an option for in-store pickup? I seem to recall the Apple stores having a pick-up up line VS waiting in line just to purchase. Being on-site at a new freelance gig means I can't (nor would want to) camp out on Friday, so having the option to pick-up a verified pre-order is most important to me.

I doubt you can pick up right away because they say it won't be in stores until the end of the week, you can alway pre order to a store to be picked up though.

Yeah, I should've clarified picking up on actual day of availability. Let's hope that's the case! 🙂
 
I am hoping to pre-order a 128 Space Grey for in store pickup on Friday. That being said, I am planning on returning it and re-purchasing it if I decide to keep it. I would be selling my Air2 back to Apple for a gift card then re-purchasing it with that if I prefer the Pro. I just don't want to give up my Air2 initially in case I decide the Pro is too heavy for my liking.

Try to sell the Air 2. You will get much better than what Apple will give.
 
I am ordering the 128GB WiFi version, along with the apple pencil.
I was deciding between silver and space grey, but I really like the way that the black bezel looks on the space grey.
Very classy 🙂

iPad w/ unlimited data and iPad w/ wifi only are two completely different things. you'll understand once you've tried that.

Getting the 128G+LTE in SG, with the Pencil. Torn on if I want the keyboard
or not. Also trying to decide on case/screen protection. Will probably go for something from Apple at least to start, just so I have something right away.

Thanks for real pics, helped me confirm black... I've always thought that the darker the bezel the more the screen will contrast, and I think it does IMO; the white to me distracts from the screen.
