Just cause I'm a tin-foil hat wearing nut job... I'm going to buy the iPad online the moment it's available, that way I'll secure one for myself. I won't have to worry about missing out on it... (on the off, off, off chance it is a bigger seller than Apple anticipated.) 
I do hope it's shipped to me by Friday or Sat though... Or just anytime before the 17th.

yeah, just most people done realize how great that plan is.... they think iPhone's hotspot will do the same...
Yes but just think what you could do with them when they grow in value and make you millions which you could then convert into a huge amount of iPads.i only get socks

I'm hoping to get 128gb in space grey plus the pencil and a smart cover for now.

where did you get 8am? are you CST? typically people reference it at 9:00am EST. and the stores never went down for a second. it all of a sudden had the ability to order.
I don't know if I can make it to the store on Friday, which is really kind of a bummer b/c I'm dying to get my hands on this thing. Especially since I've sold my Air 2 - this is my first few days without an iPad in years and I feel.. well fine actually but I want the iPad Pro!!

I'm in the UK, sorry! 8am would be midnight Pacific. That's the time they do iPhone pre orders so I was hoping it would be that time. Also, did the TV not cause the store to go down?! I hope I don't miss it tomorrow whilst commuting!
They have a separate smart cover and a silicone case, not like the smart case for the previous models which is just one piece of leather with a magnet.
Thinking about (pre) order times, I think it may be sometime in the afternoon in the UK as someone in this forum (or another) posted the New Zealand press release saying it would be available for order on Thursday. So if they are going to launch it on the Apple store simultaneously around the world, we would need it to be Thursday in NZ.
Which is a real bummer for Australia and New Zeland, because there will be no chance of getting it delivered by Friday this week
Might try Apple retail store instead this time round. At this price point and simultaneously releasing it in 40 countries, there should be lots of them available.
Yea... I was going to order and go to the apple store on Friday (day off work) to see if I can pick one up, unless the order placed is delivered on Friday. But then again, we're all speculating that deliveries will start on Friday and they'll be in store. They said later this week, so could be Saturday?
In essence, the silicon case is the smart case... Although it's not leather like the iPad Air 2, but it's pretty much the same thing.. Applying the same method of protecting the back/front and using the Auto/Lock cover aspect.
If you prefer leather I'm sure there's going to be plenty of 3rd party leather smart cases.
A friend of mine... Spoke with a Rep at the Store. Mention that they could get it anytime Thursday thru Saturday, so it's really no telling.
Gah. I'm so excited for this. But I have a bad feeling about getting one.
With Apple TV, no one knew when pre-orders would go up. So a lot of people waited at midnight Pacific, and nothing happened. SO I went to bed and assumed that it wouldn't go up for pre-order till 8am PACIFIC. Wrong. I woke up at 7am, and realized Apple TV had been on sale since 6 am PACIFIC. I was completely shocked it went up so early. Granted, I haven't been pre-ordering in the past, so maybe it was my own ignorance on how Apple does things. It still sucked. However, I was able to secure an Apple TV for release date, because I paid $20 + shipping. Only to find out, all my local Best Buys had them 10am on Friday (lol). Of course, it was my fault for paying the shipping.
I'm afraid that iPad Pro doesn't go up tonight, and then it will go on sale when I'm sleeping again. So I guess I'll have to set my alarm clock for 5am (watch it go on sale 8-9am this time). I really badly want this device, because I've been fighting some serious medical issues this past month. And as a result, I'm always in the hospital, or in bed. So I want this to play movies, and browse the internet while laying on my back. Of course, I could just get an iPad Air. So it's not like I have to have the newest device. If I can't get one, I'll prob just get another iPad. But I do really want this.
I just wish, Apple would give us a heads up on pre-order times. That way we aren't wasting our time. I guess the other side to this, them not specifying pre-order times, means we don't have EVERYONE flooding the site at the same time. But it also means, a handful of people missing out. And, I agree, it's not ideal what they are doing, and I don't know why they are doing it. It must be some kind of Apple Wisdom us mortals can't fathom.

I just wish we had "some idea" like a "window". So if they aren't 100% doing it tonight, I wish they would just say that. That way, people can just get to bed, and set their alarm early.
I talked to the folks at my local Best Buy. They indicated they'll be selling the iPad Pro as soon as they get it in stock. But they have no idea when they'll be getting it in stock.
Not surprising at all. The employees at the Apple Store claim they don't know when they're getting them in stock either. All they can say is "end of the week".
I think tonight they will get them because one of the employees yesterday was making room in the cage where they keep ipads and MacBooks. When they will go on sale though who knows even if the cage is stocked. And I was told no preorder.
