what applications do you use for note-taking and annotating PDFs?
the iAnnotate last time I tried it was the worst piece of **** ever.
No it doesn't. It just needs to have software capable of completing the tasks that people currently use PCs for. Apple needs to improve iOS, and convince more developers to treat iOS as a serious platform for the capable hardware inside the iPad Pro. But they don't need to port OS X or include the ability to emulate Windows. That would be a step backward since OS X isn't designed for touch, and emulation would tax the ARM processor.By definition, a 'PC replacement' needs to run PC software...
Single core performance is very close TODAY. By gen 3 Aplle will be comfortably ahead in multicore performance, too.
X86 is officially on life support.
Here's an observation for you.
My son started at a local university last year and took his Samsung 10 and stylus. He said in his classes he saw a few tablets, a lot of paper tablets and a few notebooks. A year later, he sees more laptops and less tablets. He's moved over to a Chromebook.
I don't think it's easier--it's all about personal choice.its the same reason why people prefer working on iPad because it's easier than pulling out a mac just to read email.
By gen 3, the iPad Pro will be so much more powerful than the best Intel i7 chips it will not even be funny.
This is a revolution in the making, and people don't seem to look past their collective noses.
Great thread! I love reading all the different viewpoints on the iPad Pro. I do have one question: Why are some so obsessed with the idea of replacing a laptop with a tablet? Laptops are so lightweight and thin these days--and you can still take them anywhere you like. Shouldn't the obsession be about making laptops thinner, without sacrificing components and performance? I never really understood all these comments from people who are cheering how tablets are so close to replacing laptops--when we already have laptops that are used for content consumption and content creation. It doesn't make any sense to me--sorry! Maybe I am biased because I love my rMBP, which can do everything I need. I see a tablet as a setback for what I'm doing, and not an evolution in computing.
If you’re an artist; there’s nothing better, then a piece of paper and a real pencil…
Replace oil or acrylic for painting with this? This crap is only an oversized phone, using a mobile os.
Oh you didn't buy an Watch? Oh, this isn't your post I quoted from the Watch 42mm Space Grey order thread? Hmm...![]()
Really?
I look forward to seeing this happen.
