At first I was quite excited about this iPad Pro, and I thought that it could ultimately replace laptops like the MacBook Air. But now I feel more ambivalent about it. I have an iPad Air 2 and I am happy with it. I still believe that :apple: can make the iPad Pro fulfill its potential, and it can be very useful, but it's just not really for me.

Noo - I think it does need full OS X on it, in order for me to return my surface pro and buy it.

Why would I care about a bigger iPad?

The whole appeal would be in being able to run Logic Pro/music notation software, atleast for me.

iOS significantly lacks in that department when compared to desktop apps.

If it doesn't offer full OS X support, then why release it at all? The surface line will always beat it..

Then why don't they release an SDK for pro apps, to work with the newest devices? It can easily be done.

I have the note 12.2 and even that's too big for most say to day things. .IPad pro will be too big for me.

IPad air 2 is what I'm getting then maybe ipad mini 4 for on the go

I never thought of the added Pro have a Mac Pro-level meaning.

Now it all make sense with that, Apple wouldn't normally release something like a bigger-sized tablet without specific reasons.

I am guessing that it is aimed at folks who purchase Mac Pro's, 5K iMacs, etc., and want a presentation or mobile device. I am hoping that it has more "tools" as well. I don't that it should be an OS X device.

Ok so at this point everything that surrounds the iPad Pro is just a rumour but i was wondering how many of you are planning to buy one? are Apple trying to muscle in on the Surface Pro type of device?

Personally i think a bigger iPad would be great when combined with the multitasking features in IOS 9, at the moment i'm beta testing IOS 9 (as part of the public beta) and i love it, but i can't help feel that the split screen and picture in picture would be better suited to a bigger screen.

What are your thoughts on a bigger iPad? should it come with a stylus? should it run OS X or would you simply be happy with a bigger iPad that runs IOS and looks the same as the iPad Air 2.

Now everything that i've said above is all conjecture and none of it is fact, i'm just interested to see peoples opinion's.

I"ll be replacing my iPad Air 2 with the Pro. I've always wanted a larger iPad and in fact have used the Surface Pro 3, excellent device, just not the OS I prefer to use nor in the same eco system as all of my other hardware. (iPhone, MBP)

Yes it would be amazing if it ran a hybrid of OSX/OS9 but when I travel I can use my iPad for 98% of all of my tasks. Email, web research, iMessages, excel will be much nicer with a stylus! (at least I hope) and for down time a larger screen and 4 speakers should prove to be enjoyable for movies and other entertainment.
