It's a scam, and the OP is likely tied to it. The OP has 3 posts, all of which are the same (about this scam.)

Best bet, report that website to the host, for a take down.
I ordered something from there on my card, so we'll see what happens.

Wrong, at least over here in the UK where consumer law is actually there to protect the consumer. They are advertising iPad and iPhone etc., and the price is irrelevant. If they send through either counterfeit goods, or broken goods, you are covered under the distance selling rules for a start because the items are not as described. If you try to get a refund from them, and they refuse, or you got nothing sent to you at all, the card company is 100% liable for the loss. Fact.

Sounds great for you, but we're not so lucky in the US. Some credit cards offer a warranty for broken goods or extend the manufacturers warranty, but not all. if you get scammed, you're on your own and your only recourse is to file a legal complaint which usually means you're out of luck.

I just want to say thank you to everybody... I knew that it was a scam I just needed other peoples opinion to confirm it. As far as the pics go, Im not that educated in that field to know exactly how it should look and I even knew the iphone 4 pic was bogus. Also I did check the address and saw that it was a health clinic or something... I just have a very stubborn friend who claims that it still isnt a bogus website and he was gonna get the buy 2 get one free deal. I didnt want to see him get shafted epicly so i asked you guys. Much thanks :)!!! I can now shove this site page in his face!

Sure, it was your friend. If I saw this page, I wouldn't even think twice, nor would I bother to "ask other peoples opinion to confirm it". It's so blatantly obvious that saying it wasn't legit shouldn't even have to be said.

Hey everybody. I came across this website called Mobilelink55.com. The prices are rediculously cheap to be true. Not even refurbished Ipads are that much. Need other opinions other than mine, cause I think its a scam. Thnx :D
Still too expensive.

This offer that is so heavily promoted by MacRumors sounds more compelling and legit:

Maximum liability is $50.00. There are time limits though for reporting fraud. We got bit from the Windjammer Barefoot Cruise mysterious non-bankruptcy bankruptcy that claimed a few hundred dollars but since it was over 9 months when we found out about it and filed a claim the card company refused our report because it was over their time limit. We didn't get trip insurance either. :( Thank god, it wasn't nearly as bad as the hundreds that lost thousands of dollars... If you think you have been scammed, report it ASAP.

But, yeah, in this case the card company should roll out there 'are you serious' claus... 'Are you serious that you order this from a company that didn't even show real pictures of the products? Nah... Refused. Oh, and our penalty is 200% of the cost of the charge.' ;-)

Actually, What I had said was "Hey, it probably is a scam but If I dont get an Ipad ill just call my bank and tell them its a fraudulent charge and get my money back"(which is what most of the people here said)

Obviously banks are a little tough to deal with, but the excuse "They mustve gotten my info when I filled out information for something else" would have to hold water here, since this supposed company isnt going to say "No, We tried to sell him a fake Ipad". And if it worked it worked. I didnt go in depth as all of you did, But after hearing all this info about this company I kind of want to send the link in an email to this Dick and see what they say haha

Back to the drawing board I guess, Now to find another place to find a cheap Ipad!!

Nah, hes not lying. It was my idea to order ****. Like I said, I figured it was a scam, but theres always ways to get your money back with Credit Cards and Banks. I do **** like this all the time. Im just not as Frugal with my cash I guess. Like I said, If it worked it worked, and If not, I call the bank and get my cash back and spend it on something else, most likely Beer

Im not sure what the option is since Im new to this forum, but If you scroll over the user name theres an address at the bottom of the page, im assuming that the mac address is the number at the end of that Address and if thats the case, then our mac addys dont match.

This post is starting to show me more and more that Mac Users are all just as retarted at the software that they swear by.

This whole post got started because a friend of mine didnt want to see me get scammed becuz I throw money around, so Naturally, that must mean that he's tied to the scam huh, since he's a good friend?

And now, Since I came on here to say that It was me who was gonna use the site, We must be the same person, right?

What good would it do the owner of that site to come on here and say "Hey theres this website and I think its a scam, what do you all think". Obviously, once one person thinks its a scam and says so, other people are going to follow and believe the same, just like what happened in this thread

The only thing that Apple is good for is the I/Pad/Pod. And you wont even be great at that once blackberry releases the playbook

Btw, this scam company told me that they only accept western union and not credit cards. Let me know if you want to read the emails between me and the "Sales Rep"

That kind of thing is called "credit card fraud" and is defrauding the bank or credit card company. The advertiser, who somehow managed to get an account with the credit card company, has no intention to ship anything, but to get credit card numbers from people, and get payment from the credit card company. When the credit card company figures it out, they disappear.

There will be a point where the thing is so ridiculously obvious that the "customer" _must_ know that there is fraud involved. At that point they become willing helper in the fraud. And at that point I suppose they might become liable.

Western Union has an excellent reputation for getting money 100% safely from person A to person B. If you send a scammer $500 through Western Union, you can sleep well at night in the certain knowledge that the scammer will get your money. No risk that the money could be lost on the way. Unfortunately, that is were Western Union's job ends. They will not even be able to tell you who the person is who got the money, only that it went to the right recipient. Any disputes are between you and the receiver of the money, which is unknown both to you and to Western Union.

If you're going to call someone retarded, make sure you spell it correctly. And I also wouldn't question people's intelligence when you think that someone is selling iPads for half the price they normally sell for.

No, no... He meant we were all turning into little fruit pastries, again.
