We're all looking for that perfect stylus that's sharp, but that would work on a capacitor screen. All we have are kludgy pens with fat Qtips on the ends. Dumb. We haven't found what we need yet, but I did notice an interesting phenomenon. Try this if you have Notetaker HD or Penultimate, or Ghostwriter on your iPad.:

Write with your finger as normal, but then roll your finger over (without lifting it off the glass), onto your fingernail and continue to write. You'll notice that it follows your nail exactly. As soon as you lift your finger and lay it down again (onto your nail), game's over. Now, your nail is hardly making a fingerprint on the capacitance surface, yet it continues to follow your nail without trouble. Somehow if you start the contact with your "fat" finger and then "shrink" the contact down to a very fine tip from your nail...hmmm. Maybe there's some answer to all this here?

Dagi it is

I got a Dagi and I am incredibly pleased with it. They have them on Amazon, but one of the comments I read there said to order form their website cuz they throw in free stuff, and alas, when I ordered from http://www.dagi.com.tw/ they tossed in a second stylus free.

I ordered the P540 and got a P301 free.

I can't speak to it's longevity since I have only had it a week, but it is very nice to write with (wear gloves or sleeves to pull over your hand a bit) and nice for doodling.

pointed stylus for note taking

The Pogo Stylus and other cheap iPhone styli are great for drawing and such, but for serious taking of notes, they just won't do. It would be like doing your history notes with a piece of chalk.

Is there any styli that work on capacitive screens that are more pencil/pen like in that they're pointy at the end, and therefore more precise? Someone said you can wrap tinfoil around the end of a pencil and it'll work, so I imagine it's possible, just where…

On another note, with Wacom tablets the pressure sensitivity is in the pen, not the tablet, no? Couldn't we have a third party accessory and app that has a pressure sensitive pen that transmits over Bluetooth to the app (hell, or connector if necessary)? This would be like getting an amazing drawing tablet too.

I wonder if the cheap stylus for Palms would work or would they scratch the iPad screen,,,surely not with a screen protector. They sell for around $4.

P540? Not listed on that site.

i just found an home stylus + pen and find it great. it was on the table at a starbucks with no one around.
just used it for draw something
its quite sticking but it might be because of my screen protector.

Not possible

So, it's possible? It's not a limitation of capacitive technology? I just don't understand why all resistive screen styli are pointy and more precise while we capacitive people get these thick inaccurate ones?

To the best of my knowledge the limitation is on the iPad itself. it's sensitivity area is just to large because it's designed to work best with fingers.

Technically it is possible, since the HTC Note has a very pointy stylus

Well, I'm almost certainly that I misunderstood this stylus, but, either sides of the pen seems to be good to write... Can someone tell me, if the thin tip isn't the stylus itself, how could it be a pen? It's to damn small lol

Or may it be a regular stylus and a capacitive stylus?
If you check out the white one - http://www.mcbub.com/item/Touchpad-Stylus-Pen-for-Apple-iPad---White-117762/

The fat end is definitely for the iPad. Good question about the other end though. Maybe it's just a cap over the pen part? Definitely looks like a regular stylus though.

Is this standard these days as a courtesy or a short term special? Anybody else get this?

About this POINTY white pen.. Does it actually work on iPad?

Fine tip stylus

I was checking out demos on YouTube for fine tip stylus and found the Cregle Ipen. I checked Out the pen at the Cregle Store online and they look amazing, but they run around $90. If you got the money they definitely seem worth it.

The only major downside to pens like that, besides price, is support must be built into the apps.

Maybe all these Custom "SHARP" Pen designers should form a collective STANDARD and set of Functions/ APIs and recommend them to Apple through the Developer Forums etc and ask Apple to put it into their next OS Release.

That way, standardized Accurate Active Pen Support.
