Where's the iPhone???
Does everyone who shops at Best Buy already have the iPhone? What about the Kid? They need iPhones too.
This list is laughable since it doesn't include the iPhone - which sells far more than the iPad.

I'm more surprised iPad is #1, considering how many people say it's "dying". All you armchair analysts can buzz off...
I don't think it's really dying per se, it's more like people aren't replacing their iPads every year or 2 like their cellphones.

It's really not specific though... It's a mixed bag... MacBook, well witch one? Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, ah ok I know what you want.

Sharp 43" Smart HDTV with Roku
Bose QuietComfort 25 Noise Cancelling Headphones

seems pretty specific to me

I definitely want a surface pro 4.

Apple watch is low on the list partially due to you needing an iPhone.

Not sure why a vacuum is on a list when that seems to fall into the buy it because you need it category. And if it is too costly one can buy a used vacuum for cheap.

Surface Pro would be cool.

Frankly I expect a lot of it comes down to that many people have simply never owned one.

A laptop - you probably have one for work/school/whatever already.
A smartphone - you'll have one from the regular replace cycle that started in the late 90s. Also the US system is very hostile to gifted phones.

A tablet however was never 'mandatory' in any way, so a lot of people haven't 'invested' in one. They may still be interested in one as a gift however purely because its a thing thats 'maybe nice since others have them'. Hell even if it wasn't an iPad they wanted, but just any tablet - they'd likely end up saying iPad purely because its the easiest name to remember and the name thats most marketed. (A bit like 'Jeep' or 'Thermos')

Valid point. It's a little depressing for certain products to be "great gift ideas" instead of devices people actually want for themselves, but I guess that's consumerism.

I don't believe a Microsoft made the top 10 list, must be an error.

Microsoft has really stepped up their game since Ballmer left, and its good to see. Competition and choices are always good. They are starting to innovate again and certainly going to be going after Apple's dominance, while also opening up things that used to be closed or "half supported"... like their office suite on OS X and iOS.

I couldn't wait... I picked up number 2 this morning... Bose QC25 headphones.

Is that why they're still losing money on the Surface...
What they stepped up is their marketing and PR, no question.
