I was honestly expecting Pro apps to be announced. The M1 in the new iPad Pro coupled with 16GB RAM seemed to suggest it was inevitable that Final Cut etc was going to be announced.

Now we get all that power to drive a few crappy widgets? Just great.
Right but I knew it was too good to be true :( For them to not announce ANYTHING at all to take any use for this new system….maybe they’ll do something separately because its so major 😂, if not we will again get our hopes up once more next year…..

Oh damn. Thinking about returning my magic keyboard now.

This looks really cool.

How often are "tent pole" features missing from the WWDC preview? I will say the universal control with Mac looked pretty cool, wondering what/if anything more could be done utilizing this feature

yea... no. If those widgets were actually interactive and not static blobs of content, it might have made more sense. And you still don't need an M1 and 16GB RAM for that.

Wow these widgets on iPadOS sound pretty cool…. Wonder why this wasn’t included last year with widgets in iOS? Anyhow looking forward to it.

I did like the way they showed it with Home Screens that themselves have themes...work, games, etc. Treating each home page like a folder, with some big widgets and a few app icons.

So, what's different (feature) that you can do on an m1 11 inch iPad Pro vs the iPad Air? Am I forgetting something - Includes only the camera difference? I was waiting to see what great iPadOS change they were going to make so that I would want to upgrade my 11 inch 2020 pro... Hint: Desktop mode would have pushed me there.

So, I may be misunderstanding this. I'm PROBABLY misunderstanding this, but on my phone, I can add widgets anywhere on any screen. On my iPad, am I still limited to doing that on the lone home screen?

Currently yes you can only utilize widgets via the 'Today View' on the iPad but in iPadOS 15 you will be able to add them to the home screen like you can with your iPhone

Playgrounds will be huge for me if it works as well as hope it will. This alone might push me to buy a new iPad Pro. Those that say they did not do any Pro App, well this is one.

My favourite thing that no one will talk about: you can now hide an entire page of Apps, here goes all those Apple Apps I don't need to see. They were a real eye sore.
