iPhone 1.1.3 with Immediate Effect

I downloaded the update, as it was installing got an error message telling me I was in recovery mode and that i need to restore my iphone, when i try thiat i get the same message
Im now staring at my phone displaying the "connect to itunes screen"

Yeah, just keep trying. I had something similar on the launch day but eventually it started working.

BUT!!! I have already downloaded the update! It just won't install!!!
I think the installation is also dependent on a connection to the Apple servers. After mine upgraded it displayed something about 'iPhone activated' so maybe it dials home just to check that everything's right?I'm getting that same message too.

Yep - it was able to restore after restarting the Mac, but now it says "no wi-fi" and resetting network settings did nothing. A quick check online at the Apple Discussion boards says to bring it into the Apple Store for a swap.

1.1.3 update done. Require re-activating itunes/iphone with ATT using phone number, zipcode, and last 4 of SSN#

OK, the map "where am i" feature is super! Edge had me in a 1/4 circle and Wifi had my house pinpointed.

When I tried to update, I got one of the error messages mentioned above, that the update failed to install. I tried restoring and had the same thing happen. I'm in class now, so hopefully when I get out I'll be able to fix it because currently my phone is useless, stuck in restore mode.
Okay I'm pretty happy for everyone that's got it working!! haha.
But i'm sooo pissed that Apple can't even have a UK call centre working at this time!! My iPhone is not working at all!!

Slow download, but otherwise no issues during install. Did require re-authorization with AT&T but thats a drop in the bucket. Google unable to locate me on protected area of Map (military installation is grayed out...lol)
Nice update and gimme's before SDK release...Now lets let the whiners loose for another 4 weeks about the missing BS called cut-n-paste; mms; and all the other whiner stuff.
By the way, it now seems, based on the keynote, that you are now the proud owners/users of an official "Smartphone"
Overall...super job apple...im just "wiggling" with joy at being able to move that stock button off my home page!!!

Please forgive the question as I am a noob, but I seem to be missing the "value" of going to 1.1.3 from my JB 1.1.2. Already being able to customize my icons and well "sorta text" multiple people through phone-email addresses with Mail, the only upgrade I see is maps right? What are the gains you received vs. what you are giving up? I certainly like to be on the bleeding edge, but only if there is something there worthwhile. Can you sound off if you DID NOT upgrade and why? I think I would like to go to 1.1.3 when its JB-ed (I'm sure there are five to twelve guys right now out there pounding sand trying to break it ). Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

The map "GPS" seems to be the killer feature of 1.1.3
