The tempered glass on my Pro Max just got broken and after removing the screen protector, I love touching the smooth screen but I'm afraid of scratches. Even fine scratches drive me nuts. I remember my Xs Max when I saw fine scratches I immediately sold it and got me another one with screen protector installed straight out of the box.

This right here means you should never go without either, IMO. If microscratches bother you so much that you’ll take a financial loss not to have any, it’s a no-brainer.

I don’t use a case or screen protector, haven’t for years, but scratches that I have to search to see in sunlight might as well not exist to me. I don’t care a whit.

I've never used a case or screen protector for any phone. For iPhones I just purchase AC+ and that is my case.

No way in heck am I risking using a $1500 USD ++ Phone without a screen protector and case. Had one installed from day one and I simply wouldn't touch my phone if it didn't have one. OCD
Hate screenprotectors. When I see friends or coworkers with screenprotectors on their smartphones, 8 out 10 I always see the rainbow effect on the sides of the screen.

Also the ones with cutouts are simply fugly af
This screen protector makes it feel like you have nothing on, the best I've ever used!

Never normally go with a screen protector but my 11 is on 3yr finance and we have a 5yr old I put one on this time. Also got an Otterbox Symmetry with the pop socket on :)

Yep. Using that same screen protector and it is really nice. Also have a UAG Plyo case. Extremely confident my iPhone is well protected.

I have to use a case, I remember this summer I went caseless and my XS wouldn’t stay in my pocket! It was sliding out every five minutes.

I agree. To me, it is just too slippery in the hand while naked. I need something that is grippy and protective. Thus, the case.

Never used a screen protector or a case and have had no issues with my iPhone, iPhone 3G, 4, 5, 6+, and X. Maybe a few tiny scratches near the end of life(2+ years) but nothing like the shattered phones I see. I keep the phone in my pocket and occasionally I have had ones fall out, but never anything serious and I am not putting a cheep protector on my nice phone. I also don't put a "cheep" UV filter on my camera glass for similar reasons. I am paying for the design and the screen, I don't want another layer.

No I never go without one. There are screen protectors which are like the real screen, edge to edge and curved edges.

My theory is that when the screen protector gets scratched up, I can replace that easily, but the scratches on the real screen are requiring full display replacement.

So in the end I’m looking at a scratch-free screen for the lifetime of the device because I replace the protector when scratches start to show up. (Fairly rare with using a premium screen protector).

I had never used a screen protector on any of my previous iPhones but after the coating was scratched on my XS Max I went for a protector on my 11 Pro Max. I got a tempered glass protector and once paired with my case you wouldn't even know it was there.

I just hate scratches and have never been able to go without a screen protector and NOT end up with a ton of scratches. My phone goes in my pocket, and get pocket lint and dirt on it no matter how careful I am with it. So I've found some fantastic fullscreen glass protectors on Amazon that while adding a little thickness to the iPhone, work really well in maintaining the original feel because there is no discernible gap between the protector and edge of the screen. Plus I switch back and forth between Apple's leather case and the thin cases from Amazon (Tozo, Peel, etc.) so I like having the extra layer on the screen (especially with the leather case) as it reduces the size of the height gap from the border of the case to the screen.
Not to mention all the GERMS that get on our phones... I like to be able to use a wipe and not worry about taking off the oleophobic coating.

I always use a screen protector. Had a couple of tempered glass protectors save my ipad, easier and cheaper to replace than a screen. I just got the iPhone 11 pro and have one of the clear hard cases, not crazy for it as the built in screen protector is thin flexible plastic, so I ordered a folio style leather case, and will use a glass protector. The folio case may not be as convenient, but extra layer over the screen when not in use should be an extra layer of protection

Fine here. No marks, scuffs, scratches or other injuries whatsoever. Maybe a couple of reeeeaalllly thin scratches on the front glass, but those can only be seen in just the right angle.

But so far so very good. Then again I haven't dropped the phone yet, but I'm sure that will happen at one point, though.

I dropped my naked 11 Pro on concrete for the first time the other day from about waist height. It has a pretty good gash on the screen, and a couple other, lighter scratches. It also scuffed the steel ring around one of the cameras because it landed on the back, then bounced, and landed again screen down.

Most of it is hardly noticeable, but the deep scratch on the screen is pretty obvious if I’m outside or under bright lighting inside.

It makes me sad.

Other than the scars from this incident the phone is in great shape. There are some very light wear marks on the frosted glass on the bottom corners where it rests, and a few very faint screen scratches, but overall I’m impressed with how well the back in particular is holding up. Too bad I had to go and ruin it....

That first scratch is always liberating though. Now you can just use the phone as you want; always a new phone right around the corner. You should have seen the XS Max I just moved on from; looked like someone used it as a sled.

No case, screen protector or AppleCare. Cracked my screen last week. Next go def getting AppleCare+, thinking IUP plan may be the best route, given I tend to get a new phone every year one way or another and I prefer undressed devices. For now I have ordered a case because seeing that imperfection just kills me. Crossing fingers no delays in the 12!

11 pro max green 10 months no case ever,

When the 6 Plus first came out, I got a launch day phone. The very next day, getting out of the car, and with no accessories yet, hit my leg and it flung out of my hand - face planted on the asphalt. They exchanged the phone with a new one, I guess they wanted samples since it was a new size, and hearing how easy was to drop.

I went to BB, got a case, a screen protector, Apple Care + and have been rocking that ever since. Naked? sure why not, but really I was devastated that first drop. So I can't do it, not naked.

I seem to go back and forth between nothing at all except an Apple applied screen protector, and putting an Apple black leather case on. I may just replace the leather case since I do not like what I have done to it in terms of oily hands.

I’ve had a full screen glass protector on my 11 since launch but with no cutout (eww) and it’s fine for faceID. I’ve been using it naked since lockdown as it’s mainly in the house. Really liking the thinner feel vs a case. I do have a thin film rear protector on just to protect against scratches

I've been case-less and screen protector-less for over 10 years now. In all that time I've had one cracked screen (on an iPhone 7 I believe), which Apple replaced for free on the iUP.

As for my 11 Pro, it's been through several short drops here and there. The stainless steel has a few minor scuffs. The rear glass is nearly flawless, except for a tiny mark in the Apple logo. The front glass is definitely in worse shape. There are many micro-scratches that are only visible in the right lighting. There are two fairly major scratches that are much more noticeable. I have no idea where the two major scratches came from, they just showed up one day. The scratches bother me in the sense that it sucks to "hurt" my beloved phone, but they don't bother me enough to regret going without phone protection.

I will continue to go without a case or screen protector for the foreseeable future. I just love the feel of a naked phone and will never cover that up.

Previously had a Pro Max, currently running a regular 11 and tried both without cases for a little while. My main concern was that they would slip out of my pocket far too easily when I sat down. Almost lost the Pro a couple of times when I didn't notice it missing from my pocket...

I use a leather case on the 11 and had a whole suite of different cases for the Pro Max, also tried Belkin screen protectors on both but they always felt and looked a bit off so I ended up removing them.

I can use my 11 Pro naked when I’m wearing jeans or slacks, but if I’m wearing shorts or sweats it constantly falls out if I don’t use a case. I have a midnight blue silicon case so it’s extra grippy.
