I figure I am kind of out of luck. I have a pretty annoying defect on the finish of the metal sides. But I am in a bit of a "catch-22." I was dumb enough to activate the phone, and it is part of the Upgrade Program, so the new loan has kicked in.

I called, and Apple did approve a return/replace, but I have to mail in the 11 Pro now, and wait until mid to late October for a replacement. As you might guess, I can't be without a phone for that long. Heading to the Apple store today to see if a Genius can come up with a plan.

To be honest, my phones live 100% in a case so I could wait this out for a year if I have to and get the new and improved 12 . . . But it's rather annoying.

Update to the above. I took it to an Apple store, and they just happened to have a replacement! They keep a few around for unusual circumstances. New one is great!!

FYI, here is a photo. The metal edge is smooth to the touch, but they either did not get it flat enough or screwed up the coating. [Click to enlarge]

Egads that was horrible!!! I’ve decided that Foxconn has zero QC; ridiculous!! 🤬🤬

Anybody have any QC issues with their Pro? And yes, I am anal about out of box defects, every launch year lol!

I have a chip the size of a pin head on the PVD coating (the edge next to the screen that faces up) ... can only see it if it catches the light just right.

Everything else is perfect! Don’t want a potentially worse problem like yellow or uneven screens, so no exchanges for me. But I was curious if others have any issues.

Mine is smooth as margarine, I was looking very closely into it which could give me an excuse to return it. Unfortunately nothing!

I just noticed this on mine. Looks like the paint on the bezels around the lenses are falling/flaking off. Not sure if its because I’m using the phone naked without a case and pulling it in and out of my pocket is removing paint?

That looks like a defect. If you’re still in the return period I’d maybe swap it. If not Apple may just swap it under warranty.

This is my only issue I have is with my 11 pro max when I shine light /sunlight to the selfi camera I see something that’s shine in there on an angle according to Apple support and other people I asked there saying is it’s reflection for the light source so I won’t worry about it.

I had the pro for two days and the screen scratches really easy.

I was on the return perior so I didn’t take it outside the house (no case, no taking risks).

It really surprised me, can’t tell when or where the screen scratched like that (and it was perfect when arrived, I’m sure of that)

Not sure if this is a defect but does your Camera freeze sometimes when open it fast to snap a fast photo?

They will have defects and small imperfections because the production is huge and people will be people so a few will slip past the initial QC. It’s YOUR money. I don’t accept and settle for anything less than perfect. Small imperfection out of the box is unacceptable. Take it back as long as you are within exchange period swap it. If the scratch is yours enjoy it but out if the box no thank you.
