You're going to be waiting until you know where freezes over and then all you might get is a bootleg Sammy phone that explodes & catches on fire. 🤣
Not really. Just four months ago TMobile had a BOGO promo for the iPhone XR or $700 credit into a XS. As long as I can see a discount like that, it's worth jumping in.

Always a surprise that the most expensive phone has the best reviews/interest/buzz. Wait...

The one thing I do miss about Apple phones is the camera. Samsung camera functionality and quality just doesn't match it.

This is easy to believe. Great phone. Wish it had more features. But can't imagine there being a better iPhone out there.

In glad they pushed the battery size up! Hoping to upgrade next year.

I can’t believe that I like the camera design. I didn’t like it in the dummy models but I love the camera design now. It highlights the camera as a main feature of the device.

similar to AirPods that I didn’t like as dummy models but I ended up loving it.

I’m glad they seem to be good phones with good reviews. But 2020 sounds like the one I want: 5g, no notch, squared off edges, usb-c, promotion, under-display fingerprint, bilateral charging... I know not all of that will happen, but if even half does, it’ll be the best update in many years.

It doesn't change a fact that the iPhone 11 is still one of the hideous device ever made by  and most of the customers agree about it.

That #1 spot is deserved. Extremely impressed with my Pro Max. Huge upgrade (for me) from my X all around

Can someone explain what the 40 hour claim means? How does this translate to real usage?

I think these phones are pleasantly surprising most, so that's a good thing.
Exactly that, I was on a normal upgrade path. My X is two years old, my eye sight was getting worse. I fancied a larger model so I got the Pro Max. But actually this is a huge upgrade, much bigger than I anticipated. The quality, the materials, that camera is just unbelievable, and the battery life. And it looks really good as well when you actually have it in your hands.
Didn't CR just withdraw their recommendation for the XS and XS Max because of their "too fragile" glass backs? They must have drunk the Kool-Aid about more durable glass.
Maybe try touching these new models. The backs are brilliant!
For a “boring” update with no “new” design and an “ugly” rear camera, the iP11s appear to be getting a large number of very positive reviews, more than any previous iPhone.

Funny.
It is the surprise element, it is really a huge improvement to previous models in every way. A very worthy upgrade. Go beyond paper spec comparisons and use one. It will become clear.

It doesn't change a fact that the iPhone 11 is still one of the hideous device ever made by  and most of the customers agree about it.
I think you have difficulty to distinguish between facts and opinions. In my opinion, it was the ugliest one, I compared mine before I had it to a Philishave razor. Having had it in my hand and using it since launch day I actually love it. It looks really good. Not had a single negative comment on it. I really think it is the presentation and media campaign that Apple ran that did them no favours on how this phone looks and feels in real live.

In my opinion the only people who were “surprised“ at how good iPhone 11 is, are those on tech forums who were determined to rubbish it as the worst phone ever made before they’d ever even seen it. Everyone else who likes it, just likes it.

Good to hear and shows how good the experience is...battery on this is a king. Certainly don’t need to care about super wired charging on this kind of battery life

The reason CR is garbage is because of the criteria they use to “test” these phones. For so long CR tested them the way they did dumbphones in the past. Call quality, ease of use, dialing a phone number, etc.

They have adapted a bit throwing in camera but they still pretty much ignore OS, software, services, screen, internals, etc.

Last year they tested battery life, rear camera image quality, 1080p video quality, ergonomics, activation and setup, build quality, durability, and water resistance.

Even with that limited criteria they’re inconsistent. iPhone X is rated “good” for ergonomics and iPhone XS is “excellent”?? It’s the same form factor.

Reading a report about the CR review on another Mac website, it looks like the 11 and 11PMax did really well on the durability/breakability test, much better than the XS phones. So, thumbs up to Apple on that. The comments on the real-world-ish battery test they ran are pretty impressive, too.

Would "most of the customers" include the literally millions of people who've bought these phones in the last two weeks?

CR is just another information point that seems to indicate that Apple upped the game on the iphone 11/Pro. As much as I will miss 3DT, if the trade-off is battery life, it seems increased battery life has hit a home run.

This is what happens when you’re not so obsessed with making the thinnest phone on the market **cough Jony**. When you give the masses a solid phone with solid specs, surprise, they'll actually buy it.
Jony’s iPhones have been getting thinner since iPhone 6. We won’t see his next two designs until 2020 and 2021.

Enjoy your phone, it’s ok that it’s not an iPhone. Many iOS fans wouldn’t buy any Android, but that’s one of the better ones.

Many complaints about how its slow and useless. look at reddit, xda and any android forums

-Dolby atmos sound
iPhone 11 has this :)

-16-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens.
Megapixels dont always matter. plenty of reviews are showing how apples lens compare to others

-Samsung pay that works everywhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know this is a joke right? MST isn't a flawless tech and supporting magnetic stripes is a joke. The reason NFC came out was to have a secure way to communicate your card credentials with the machine so there is no man in the middle attack. Also there are every day headaches with Samsung Pay that people have complained about again on reddit, android central and other android forums.

-****ing USB-C
this is depends on who you are. I personally loved lightning when it was introduced and USB-C came out because of lightning. Either way, Apple put a lot into Lightning and they are phasing it out like they phased out 30pin. Within the next year im sure lightning will be almost completely gone besides on their cheaper products because lightning is free but usb-c they have to pay a fee for

Besides all of the above, if you love your phone great. Dont come onto a forum bragging about it because youll get proved wrong. Also its running android and I personally value my privacy and its priceless to me. Im not going to get a "cheaper but better device" if that means it sells my information to anyone and everyone. My privacy is worth something to me :)

Oh please do go on. It always amuses me when android fanboys come in here and start rattling off a laundry list of specs like it’s supposed to mean something.
