We have too many front porch thieves in Austin anymore :(

Anytime the post office leave an amazon package or UPS or FedEx leave one... I'm a NERVOUS WRECK and those aren't even $1400 iphones!!! I waste a TON of my data scoping out our cameras making sure my stuff is still there once delivered! NEVER would even think of presigning for an iPhone (or apple watch). At least if something expensive is left without a presign... it still can fall back on UPS/FedEx... once you sign... it's ALL on YOU for signing!

I have a Ring and I'm seriously considering pre-signing, when I get the ring I'll run home as quickly as possible (I work three miles from home)

but honestly, even then I'm not sure that's a good idea.

I'm not getting a CC as an option in MyChoice for any of my packages (my Watch is in Louisville), either. I just called UPS at the hub (not the 800 number), and they submitted the hold for pickup at the CC. They said the hold went through successfully, and it'll be available on 9/20. The only reason that I have the local number for the CC is that they had to call me about a package in the past, and they gave it to me so that we could keep in contact. Usually, a rep on the 800 customer service line won't give out the local CC numbers. Googling the CC or looking it up on UPS website only shows the 800 number.

Hmm... interesting. However, I don’t even have the option to make changes to the delivery. It’s asking for an InfoNotice number :(

Fake news. The regulars say there won't be any movement out of china today

my tracker is showing that my phone has moved to Korea.

what are you talking about?

We don't know who those iPhones belong to and we don't know when they got departure scans.

What are YOU talking about? The Flightaware flight tracker is just tracking UPS flights. Those flights occur EVERY DAY. There's no wizardry. No one knows which exact flight has the phones, and very likely it will be tomorrow for most not today based on several go arounds at this point. Specifics get deduced when you see departure scans align with flight times.

I'm just letting you know you're wrong so you don't mislead people here.

Touché.

I've had mixed results for changing it. I would call UPS if you still can't change it after getting the shipment notification from Apple.

Hmmm, that's new to me...like UPS wants a delivery attempt to hold it.

I usually have the option to have it held at a UPS hub, but I don't right now. I'm thinking it may be because I'm having the phone sent to Utah instead of Maryland this time (I reside in Maryland).

...

I’ve read good feedback on the Caudabe Lucid Clear Crystal. That may be worth a look.

...

I have the Caudabe Lucid Clear Crystal case on my XS Max and it is terrific. It is very thin (so thin that I keep thinking that I forgot to put the case on), provides just enough protection, and no yellowing after a year of use. If I look closely, I will see scuff marks on the case, but after a year of daily use that is to be expected.

Those Caudabe cases are too thin, IMO. I dropped my X one time from about 3ft, case was cut right through. Garbage at that point. YMMV. ATKOT.

Would you pick the Apple Clear Case over the Caudabe one?

I would say the opposite as I've had the Caudabe Sheath on my iPhone XS Max since I got the phone. It survived a drop from about 5ft on to a tile floor with no damage whatsoever...

Well I tried the UPS DM on Twitter to change it to my CC. They said they couldn't do it till it moved to US... So I'll wait till it hits Anchorage. Should be soon anyway. Let's see if the option changes at that point, then I'll try again if it hasn't.

I bought an Apple case. The only problem with them is there are some serious locations where you can damage the device and the corners tend to peel back exposing a major weak point in the phone structure.

I think this is why they wait to send the shipping notification until the device is in Anchorage or Louisville.
