Is it difficult to activate on Verizon? AT&T usually works well for me.

One year it was a nightmare, another year it was fine. I live in a very rural area with practically no cell signal, have to use wifi for everything and that's not great either. I think I'll just swap the sim card.

I asked Apple and they said I can restore from backup even if the old phone is not running iOS 13. I don't want to go through upgrading since I'll be restoring my XS Max to factory. Makes sense?

I think they are mistaken. But, try it. If it doesn’t work, you can always upgrade and then kick it off.

Does that mean we don't need a signature? I've always left out the signature form and plan to again. We live in a rural area and there are no concerns of theft, and UPS driver usually arrives just before or just as I'm getting home from work.

I read on another forum here that Apple isn't doing that (anymore??). Someone has to actually sign for it (no more signature form to leave out).

I never update my old phone to the new OS before migrating to my new phone. I always look at having the new OS as part of having the new phone. Plus, I just don't like updating stuff. I've never had a problem with it before. Can't speak for this year, of course.

I did not see my local CC as an option either until, out of frustration, I cut and pasted the entire address for the CC (including zipcode) into the first address field in the search box. For some reason, that worked and the CC appeared as an option for me.

Thanks. I called UPS and they were able to do it for me. It does not show as an option online until there has been one delivery attempt according to them.

Otherwise, arrange to pick up at a UPS customer counter hub or UPS Store (1 day delay).

Misinformation. There is no one day delay if you arrange it correctly.

Probably just “by end of day”, since that’s the commitment they make for UPS Worldwide Express Saver, which is how the phones were shipped.

I usually get a text in the morning when it changes to "out for delivery" with an estimated time for my UPS shipments.

For any RDU area people, I think there's a good chance that our phones will be on UPS #2496 that is scheduled to leave Louisville SDF at 3:41PM EST and land at RDU at 4:42PM.

You might want to check your tracking. I’m in Michigan as well and just got a departure scan from Kentucky

You can always restore if the new phone is equal to or higher than the backup. They are not on 13 yet with the old phone so it will be good. If the current was on the beta (13.1) then it wouldn't work as the new phones are only 13.0.

I updated to picking up at CC tomorrow, and it did let me do that on the UPS website. Does it take a little while for that to update on your tracking status? This will be the first time I've done that. Just don't want to risk them not leaving it if signature is required.

it says it in the app and on the main mychoice grid screen, but not on the actual tracking. I'm not too concerned.
