I finally got an email from Apple saying that my Trade in Kit is on the way. However, in the email it says: "Please use it to send the iPhone to Apple no later than so we can close the associated loan and cancel the AppleCare+ coverage." There's no date in that sentence or anywhere else in the email. I know that you have 14 dates to send the phone back but clearly, there was supposed to be a date where it says "no later than so". That's annoying!

So I couldn’t locate an authorization to release for my packages on UPS My Choice, I called UPS and they said they don’t require signature. Weird?

How is 12 fine to restore from? You cant restore an iOS 12 backup on an iOS 13 phone. My understanding is that the phones were shipping with iOS 13 on them.
I’m assuming 13 would be fine to update to and the restore. I just updated my xr to 13 and will be restoring from 13.

if doing a restore to set up the new phone tomorrow, is it better to upgrade my old phone to ios 13 and do a backup to restore from, or just leaving it on ios 12 and restoring from that backup will be just fine?
Honestly both will work just fine. But when you are restoring and upgrading at the same time there is more opportunity have something go wrong...

A lesson for all of us:
Called UPS and was told that my package DOES NOT require a signature. Not sure why it would be different or why the email specifically says signature required, but she looked it up and said no. I guess I just trust her?

I’d still put a signed release on the door if you don’t mind them leaving it on the porch. I do that even if I’m home in case I don’t get to the door in time. It’s at the drivers discretion whether or not he leaves it in any case.

I thought the same thing. No later than what?

Yes you can. You can restore an older backup to a new version not a newer version to and older one. So you can go from iOS 12 to 13 but not 13 to 12.

So will it require a signature when delivered or not? Apple’s site says yes, UPS’s site doesn’t say anything.

need to know whether or not to leave work early.

for mychoice members, will it update the delivery window in the morning?

Got my departure scan, and it's on it's way to Dallas. Picking up at CC at 4:30 pm (that's when they open). In the past I normally have it delivered to work, but in the rush this time I didn't change the delivery address.

Already upgraded to iOS13!

My tracking didn't say it did but UPS told me yes. Now UPS is telling some people no sooooo idk what to believe at this point. If getting it tomorrow is super important I would plan on being there to sign.

My watch is on the same flight, and then headed to West Texas. Hopefully my phone will be right behind it!
