Was just going to jump on this thread and find you to ask if you had heard anything yet. My XS Max is in West Sacramento and should arrive there tomorrow.
Let me know when you hear back on how much you got for yours.
I’ve never done a trade in with Apple, but I thought it was an “all or nothing” situation, where you either get the amount promised, or they refuse it for not meeting their criteria for trade?
congrats on buying the new phone. I think the trade in kit also gets canceled when you cancel the order. At least that’s what happened in my case. If you just trade in the phone at the store then your loan will be cancelled out.
Even with having shipping instructions, just in case I was gone, I still had to sign. My driver said “still need a signature from you.” When he showed up.

This is my first time but I don’t foresee that happening. My XS Max was extremely well maintained and had zero problems mechanically or physically. No water damage not even a scratch on it after a year.
Wow I can’t believe it’s almost been a week. Time flies when your not waiting for your new iPhone.
Some say it works other say it doesn’t. Really depends on the driver and if they want to take it or not. Drivers always have the discretion to leave an item signature or not.

when questioned he said it was his discretion however he wasn’t going to be
on the hook for over a 100 deliveries of $1000+ dollar devices.

I can finally join in on the fun. My phone has been shipped and is in China!
Finally shipped yesterday with a delivery date of Oct4th. Spending $1200 on a mobile phone and they can't do better than 8 day delivery. Sad there is no legitimate competitors for Apple...one day there will be and we won't be spending $1200 on a phone and having 8 day delivery for shipping.
Awww you had to wait how terrible. You realize other OEMs don’t have a wait because they have no demand right? If you ordered on time you would have gotten it sooner stop crying
Hey my dude I have 4-11 on my delivery date and I haven't seen anything happen. I do still sorta expect to get it sooner than they say, but who knows. When did you order? I was a day late and did mine the 14 of September.
Originally in the 10/4-10/11 group, and UPS just updated delivery date to 9/30. I have the same 8:53pm origin.
Yesterday while I was in the Apple store app checking my order status (it was Preparing to Ship for 2 days) I saw the status change to Order Cancelled. I checked my email and there was an email from Apple stating that they cancelled my order because ATT told them I had a wireless plan that was incompatible with an iPhone. I have a family unlimited data plan that Att desperately wants me to change but I won’t. Yes my Att bill is paid on time and is not the issue. I have preordered every iPhone since the 3G and currently have an XS Max. I called ATT and they said that Apple cancelled the order due to “buyers remorse”. Needless to say I never cancelled the order. Escalated with Apple support and waiting for a call back but I just got royally screwed. On a whim I went into Best Buy and walked out with a new 512 SG 11 Pro Max so it worked out but man this isn’t cool.
A little nervous about my trade in. The first kit was cancelled for some reason, and the replacement kit was delivered yesterday. My serial number was not on the label: blank space next to SER and my phone number next to REF. I called Apple and they’re sending me another trade in kit to arrive 10/3 (very close to the 14 days). I’m hoping this doesn’t get crossways. I tried to return at the Apple Store but they couldn’t since the kit was on the way.
You have 14 days from delivery of the kit. When the ship another one the system knows it’s still pending.
I was thinking that would be the case, but the Apple rep seemed new to the whole thing. Also, I'm going to have to exchange my Pro Max because the power button isn't registering clicks on the lower portion (which is apparently where I normally press). I'm fairly confident that it'll work out, just a bit nervous.
Restoring my phone right now, but I might need to leave the house for a bit. Does anyone know, can it harm the restore if you take it away from wifi for a bit, but then get it back on wifi an hour later or so?
