Darnit! Well, my mom is retired. She can hang out at my house for the day. LMBO!
This is why I always choose to pick up at the UPS CC so I can pick it up whenever I want and not have to wait for the UPS Driver to show up at the door.

I’m pumped. Back here again after the XS Max UPS plane tracking fun! Lol

Already have next Friday PTO’d and can relax while I wait for the new iPhone to come in.

Question - if I’m on IUP since launch last year.. how would I do the pre order process in the Apple store? The same way everyone else does?

Yep, you just do it on the Apple Store app or apple.com. They usually will have the option for you to do pre-approve to get a head start (*must need iPhone to do this). From my experience last year, the Apple Store App on the idevice were more reliable then going to apple.com on your desktop on launch day as the one from the idevice was more reliable and was open right at pre-order start. Last year if I remember, the apple.com on desktop wasn't open till maybe 1-2 minutes after the pre-order start time.

that’s what I did last year. So you have to get approved every year? I thought that once you did it once, you just re-up basically.

Very helpful OP! After my issues with Verizon last year, I’m considering ordering through Apple this year if I do decide to upgrade. My only concern is that I will not be in town on Friday until very late. It would be ideal if I could do a Saturday in-store pick up since I’m only 10 minutes away, if that.

Has anyone done this before? Is there usually an option for picking a day/time beyond launch day? Not sure if the normal business operations change in consideration of launch day traffic.

Yes you would have to get pre-approved every year. I had to do it for the past 2 years, and this year will be my third.

Silly question probably - but if I wanted to trade my XS Max in with Apple, I've never been able to procure a preorder + trade in and put that balance towards the new phone. Am I missing something ? I assume I would need to trade in for a credit then apply the credit to the new order as I've never found another means of achieving this.

Well when you pre-order, you should be able to add the trade in at check out. You’ll still pay the full price if you are doing it outright. If it’s for delivery they will ship you a box separately for you to send your current phone in. Once they receive it and process it, they will credit you back the value. If you do the in-store pick up option, you can do it right there in store and get the trade in value refunded to your original tender used or to your debit card and pay it off that way.

Thank you, I missed this step somewhere when getting my Xs Max apparently!

Interesting. Is it a hard credit inquiry every year? (Last question lol)
If you are currently on iUP and you upgrade yearly, it will just be a soft credit inquiry. But if you start up a new one, then it will be a hard inquiry. I've been on iUP for 3 years already and the very first time I got into this program was a hard inquire but after that it was just a soft inquiry and never shown up on my report the past 2 years. I'm certain that it will be a soft inquire this year again for me.

When we are all stressing the night before only to realize the next day when we wake up our iPhone is magically out for delivery or ready for pickup.
If it even ever says anything at all until it shows up. This is the one thing I hate about these huge item deliveries is they forfeit on information because they are so busy.

Not totally sure, but I believe once you've done it once and paid fine, it's no longer am inquiry.

It shouldn't be a hard inquiry every year. I think it's just a soft one after the first year.

11 Pro Max.

I need to see the matte back on the gold and silver color before I decide. Contemplating the green too but need to see videos.

Pricing and storage are up...still 64gb base model storage. 11 pro max is $1249 for the 256gb. Not sure I can stomach that.

I’m in for an 11 Pro. I’ve been doing silver/white iPhones the last few upgrades. This time I may do space grey or even gold. Nothing wrong with a little bling. What do you all think about gold?

When are we able to get pre-approved for iUP?

11 Pro Max 512 GM, Midnight Green set as favorite. I get to sleep in to my normal wake up time this year. :)

Series 5 AW, GPS, Space Gray ordered.

Green pro max is my goal that green looks amazing.
[doublepost=1568141266][/doublepost]Also new preorder time means I don’t have to wake up at 2am!
Wanted Cosmic Blue but the green does look cool. Just stinks would rather just pop up at 3AM and order and sleep again than have to go to work late and also be fighting with the general pop that would be up at 8 and wouldn't go through the hassle of awakening at 3AM to get in first.
