I don’t mind a bigger screen, but Apple please, make the phones WIDER not taller… other than that, it looks like a great upgrade cycle for me!

I love my 11 Pro Max in green, which replaced my 7+. I'm having trouble finding a reason to upgrade. Ever since I got iPad Mini 6th gen, I use my phone less and less.

My iPhone 11 Pro died last week. Was planning to hold out and get the 15 Pro, but went ahead and bought the 14 Pro

Let me tell you - what a MAJOR upgrade the 14 Pro is. The iPhone changed a lot over 4 years. You don’t appreciate it year over year. But Apple is on a continuous improvement march
thanks, good to know. I read the article and thought, well, I can wait for whatever comes after 15 since I am still happy with my 11. but it's nice to know that even the difference going to a 14 would be a notable upgrade.

My XR still works, but I’m in desperate need for a better camera, battery, and performance. Can’t even browser while on a FaceTime without my phone freezing.

I was planning to upgrade from my 11 Pro to a new 15 this year, but I recently had my battery replaced and now I'm not so sure. Many of the new(er) iPhone features sound appealing, but nothing seems essential. I'm sure I'd appreciate the many improvements since the 11, but I'm still quite satisfied with the 11 overall.

ChatGPT to the rescue with a much more useful table.

I really wish they hadn't increased the screen size of the Pro. The whole reason I went with the 11 Pro over the 11 was the smaller (OLED) screen.
They did shrink the bezels a lot when going to the flat edge design. My 13 with 6.1” screen feels closer in size to the 11 pro, while the 11 feels closer in size to the pro max because of the bezels. It was a chonker.

Here’s a side-by-side for comparison:

11 - 11 pro - 13 - 13 pro max

I'm doing this, I'll keep my 13 Pro Max for as long as I can

1. It's cheaper.
2. It's so much fun to experience technology jumps, maybe that's another reason for me to hold to the phone for longer.

PS:

I wonder how dated all these "chatGPT will replace human workers" will be in like 2 years top?

Generative AI is as revolutionary as CGI and Photoshop.
It will help us achieve AMAZING things much faster, but people are still doing things practically because it's not the same. People line up to watch a Christopher Nolan movie and he BARELY uses CGI.

Imagine HOW BORING anything would be if it was created by computers only.

I hope we understand that this is a tool for us and professionals not a BEING capable of thinking.

Useful article for me. I have an iPhone 11 Pro and was thinking of upgrading. Getting USB-C is my main motivation as most everything else I have is now USB-C. All of the other new features will be nice :)

I got a new battery last week, but will probably still upgrade after I get a chance to see it in person.

Thank you for a very informative article.

Since I still have the original SE, could you please publish another article where you explain what to expect when upgrading from iPhone SE to iPhone 15 Pro?

The title could be:

iPhone SE (original) vs. 15 Pro: What to Expect if You've Waited to Upgrade

Thanks.

Going from an iPhone 11 Pro to a 14 Pro the main thing I miss is battery life, the 11 was amazing.

My iPhone 8 is still solid. lol. But if they don't increase the price I will update my IPhone 8.
My list:
+ 3nm
+ 8Gb RAM
+ bezels
Have an secondary iPhone 8 Pro 256 and it's still an amazing iPhone and has plenty of power left, shame Apple dropped it.

The year-over-year improvements are getting more marginal, so yeah MacRumors are trying to help us out by highlighting differences.

This does add value to the website, for me.
Folks need to remember that sites like MR aren't writing articles for their members, otherwise this article likely wouldn't exist. The articles are public and as a result indexed by search engines; someone searching for iPhone 11 vs 15 probably doesn't know the main differences like the regulars who follow every rumor and leak.

These articles bring in new viewers and readers.

But also as you say, improvements are becoming thinner and thinner so comparing differences between other models as we get closer to the iPhone announcement is valuable.

I find it weird this is posted after I said I’m still on the iPhone 11 Pro in the “upgrade from the iPhone 13 to 15 article.”

I came from an 11Pro to a 14Pro, the biggest change for me was the addition of MagSafe, I use it all the time and absolutely love it. The slightly bigger screen is a bonus and I prefer the flattened edges of the 14Pro but I still maintain the 11Pro held out longer for battery use.
I personally don’t see much of a change with the camera but the night photos on the 14Pro are a huge upgrade.
Exaxtly my 11 Pro does everything you need it to do compared to the 14 Pro. There is 0 reason to spend $1200 to go from the 11 Pro to the 14 Pro. I don’t expect anything worthwhile in the 15 Pro either.

It would seem that MacRumors assumes that no one buys non-Pro iPhones
The non-Pro 15 will basically be a 14 Pro with some compromises (and a few minor improvements). So it’s not really as exciting.

These articles are fine, but I also like the comparison tool on the Apple website. I use that a lot (also for iPads).

Going from 12 Pro 128 to 15 Pro Max 256. I'm excited. Hopefully some great colors this year plan on going with a clear case
