Absolutely nothing compelling on this list. As others have said, the updates are really incremental these days. Even 4 generations later, it's basically the same phone with the same capabilities, just slightly enhanced. Day to day usage wouldn't really change or improve in any meaningful way.

For that reason, I expect my 11 Pro to continue chugging along nicely for another 2-3 years. Unless something breaks, or Apple actually adds a totally new feature on the level of Apple Pay or Face ID, there's no need to waste money.

My iPhone XS is working just fine thank you :)

I think we've already reached the point where we replace phones when they break and not before.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max is still solid. Still gets 2-day battery life in 2023. But I will probably upgrade this year.
Mine too. I'm actually blown away by how good the battery has been. It's still at 84% in battery health.

I wonder if reduced usage during the pandemic contributed to that. During the lockdown period I hardly used my phone and did nearly everything on my Mac. The iPhone's battery could go 4-5 days between charges.

But no Midnight green color scheme probably 😭. The real reason I haven't upgraded.
Love that color and hope they bring it back for the 15. I bought an Apple-refurb 11 Pro Max two years ago next month, and although it's still going strong, I know its days are numbered in terms of OS upgrades. So I'll probably buy a 15 when Apple starts selling refurbs . . . even if I can't get one in midnight green.

This could be the year I hold onto my 14 Pro Max. I always say it and then upgrade. The 16 might be seriously the better path this time though. Mute button, USB-C, more ram and improved camera. It’s not much for the 15….

It would be great if they put Wifi 7 on it with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 announced in February. But knowing Apple, I'm sure they'll leave that for the iPhone 16, this one with the change to USB - C we'll think too much from the directive

My iPhone X is part of my iPhone “museum” alongside my 4S and 6s. I currently use a 14 Pro as my primary phone and my 12 Pro as an “iPod touch” at home.
Thats basically what my iPhone X will become when I upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro Max next year.

I'm with you on this one. I'm partial to that color scheme and still rock my 11 Pro Max daily. When the day comes that it fails to fulfill its duties... then it'll be time to move on... hopefully with a similar color option, too haha.

I think I'll keep my 11 Pro for another year or two. It's already a bit larger than I would prefer (5.5 or 5.6", i.e. something between the 11 Pro and the 13 Mini, would be ideal), and so far the upgrades are not enough to entice my to buy a new device. Especially not if only the 15 Pro Max gets the better camera.

Exactly my 11 Pro does everything you need it to do compared to the 14 Pro. There is no reason to spend $1,200 to go from the 11 Pro to the 14 Pro. I don’t expect anything worthwhile in the 15 Pro either.
I 100% agree with you. Nothing between the 11 and the 15 is worth $1.2K unless the phone is not working anymore.

We should treat our phones like we treat our laptops. A 20% speed bump is not worth a phone's full price anymore.

The last time I changed my phone was from a regular 12 to a 13 Pro Max for 3 reasons:
- Battery Life
- Screen Size
- ProMotion display
- They paid $1K for my $899 iPhone.

If they would have launched the 14 with Alpine Green I might have defected but adding it mid cycle on the 13 was much to soon to get me to upgrade.

Apple drives me mad by releasing color schemes I like and only keeping them around for one generation or less lol

What about people who are still using a 7+ Like myself, will I notice the difference ?

LOL !!! Me too. Time to switch to the 15 Pro Max. This was (ie. is) my first iPhone which I got new in Feb 2019. Still running on its original battery. Damn this phone's good !

I thought when I bought my 11 pro in its first year I would sell it and purchase the 12 the following year to get 5G. But I didn't because it really wasn't all that better. And each year I've just been fine continuing with the 11 pro. So this article is helpful to compare to the next model (even though it's based on rumors).

My iPhone 11 Pro is still working great, but I’m running out of storage (64GB used to be enough but not anymore), so I think I’m going to make the jump to an iPhone 15 Pro this fall.

While the iPhone 15 Pro has yet to launch, several new features have already been rumored. Following our iPhone 12 Pro vs. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro vs. iPhone 15 Pro comparisons, we have now put together a version for the iPhone 11 Pro.

While year-over-year iPhone upgrades are not always significant, new features begin to stack up over multiple generations. For this reason, the iPhone 15 Pro will be a notable upgrade for those who still have a four-year-old iPhone 11 Pro.

The list below includes major iPhone changes introduced since 2019, as well as new features rumored for iPhone 15 Pro models.

Well except this article does not actually tell you what to expect, it's a spec/key feature list. Like a comparison (the old camera did X,Y,Z and the new camera will let you do A,B,C as well. Or whatever. This article is basically true for any phone that isn't a 15...
