Haven't seen this mentioned prior and I didn't even notice it immediately. Was taking some shots of my leather case and noticed the buttons have chamfered edges. I love this attention to detail for which only Apple seem to care. Never seen this on any other case.

Hey man, are those horizontal "stripes" normal to have in the leather case? I just got mine yesterday and it's got the same. Are all the cases like that? I mean those that start from the bottom right corner of the camera cutout.

Yeah, it's normal. Each animal is different so each piece of leather will have its own qualities. Some, like myself, like the unique markings while others prefer a perfectly consistent texture across the whole case. If you don't like what you have, you can always return it and buy another.

Alright thanks! I’ll see if I want to replace it or just keep it.

Another question for MagSafe Wallet users (with the leather case): will the wallet leave the circular mark the cover like the MagSafe charger seems to do?

I wouldn’t say they’re hard to press, but they certainly are mushy. The buttons on the Apple leather case feel so much better. Leather on the Nomad is better though, both cases have their pros and cons.
Exactly my buttons are really hard to press, like you said very mushy
The buttons on the Apple case are amazing but the the case would pop out in the corners and also it doesnt offer much drop protection for me.
I just can't to find a case! I am thinking of returning the Nomad case but there are no alternatives

Buttons have always been a bit hard to press on the Nomad cases. I’ve always complained about how tough they are to press, but the build quality and premium leather always outweighs the bad buttons. It’s a trade off I’m willing to live with.

I really would love to go back to a leather case but my last phone and current new 12 mini I’ve been using ultra thin cases and would hate to go back to the bulk! Does anyone know of any thin leather cases?

I imagine Apple's leather case is as thin as they come. I mean from my case I'd guess the leather itself is about as thin as a sheet of paper... just doesn't feel good, nothing high quality about it... but I don't want bulk so I'm willing to live with it.

Apart from the Nomad and official Apple leather cases, any recommendations for quality cases for the 12 pro max.
I didn't like the feel of the Nomad case at all, the buttons are too hard to press.

Pretty much every leather case you can find..

If that's your only complaint just slice behind them with a razor blade, you cant even notice it and buttons are heaps better.

I’m gonna try this when my new Nomad arrives. I went ahead and opted for an exchange instead of a refund. But, it’ll be for the all black Nomad. I can’t wait!

I just did the volume buttons on mine, power one was ok. I also did it on my Sheath.

I have only ever had the black.

I have gone back to the official apple leather case since it was on offer on Amazon. Hopefully this case does not pop out in the corners like the last one I had. Nomad are releasing some new cases with MagSafe. The Nomad cases offers much better protection than the apple leather but the buttons are just too hard to press. Paying with Apple Pay was a nightmare. Apple leather case buttons are much easier to press.

My power button is fine for apple pay, i use a watch anyway. The buttons are the only thing going for apples leather case.

if the nomad case had the apple buttons it would be perfect. Also the leather on the nomad case feels kinda weird imo. Doesnt feel like leather at all, more like hard plastic.
no case has buttons as good as apples, its genuine horween, not like apples, maybe you've never had genuine leather.

Maybe
I think they are releasing their mag safe case this week. I might give them another go and see. The Apple case is just not protecting enough imo even though the buttons are fantastic and the best there is. However I am having that problem again where my phone pops out in the corners of the case after taking it out of my pockets. This is the third time its happened to me so I'm going to send the case back and get the Nomad.
