It’s not extra cost. It’s Apple allowing AT&T and Verizon to do a $30 “special offer” and then showing that $30 reduction as the starting price of the phone. It’s dishonest because it only applies to those carriers.
Well if a GSM iPhone costs $450 to make, and the CDMA version costs $480 (for example) then it's nice of them to only charge $799 for anyone wanting a GSM phone rather than just making it $829 across the board ;) they do say 'starting from', which is true, though maybe it could be 'starting from*' to make it clearer.

What’s this Apple Pencil charger looking bit?

Great. A new display resolution that developers will need to update their apps to support (and will result in a few months of awkwardness with apps that either haven't or won't be updated). Don't get me wrong, this will be great once that happens. It just sucks when it's that new.

Am also wary of new body styles. The non-Pro iPhone 11 was essentially the S release to the iPhone Xr (which was, itself, somewhat of an S release to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus). Apple has a very poor track record when it comes to the first iPhone in a new body design series (going all the way back from the iPhone 3G, to the 4, to the 5, to the 6 and 6 Plus, to the 7 and (to a lesser, but still experienced degree) 7 Plus, to the original X. Now, with the 12, especially with it being Apple's first 5G phone series, I'm definitely wary of quality control with this series...

Covid, social unrest, global warming, widespread conflicts... but thankfully we can play some dumb League of Legends mobile games...
I'm fine with my iPhone 8 - just wish for a larger screen for my overworked eyes - not going to give Apple 2 grand for the privledge though (incl local sales tax)
Honestly, just get an iPad 8th Gen. Powerful processor and great size for gaming if that’s your thing.

❗️Life Hack❗️: Try this one simple trick to get an iPhone 12 Pro - throw a dark blue case that matches the new blue of the 12 Pro on your 11 Pro, and nobody will be able to tell the difference, even you the user, because nothing changed once you cover your phone, which almost everyone does 😃

Funny cause most people I know have many broken lighting cables, they need a new one:

That’s a fair point... at least if they’d said ‘We’re taking away the charger and EarPods but we’re giving you a really strong, durable charging cable instead of the piss-poor ones we’ve traditionally chucked in’ then it wouldn’t have felt quite as bad.

If I didn’t have my 11 Pro I’d be ordering the 12 Mini, although the 12 is the ideal iPhone for moderate gaming, YouTube, social media, etc. Really impressed with the iPhone 12 lineup. The 12 Pros feel excessive for no reason. With the 11 to 11 Pro, you got significantly better display which was worth the price difference alone, but with the 12 to 12 Pro, you’re getting LiDAR and a Telephoto lens, SS frame, and... not much else tangibly. Interesting releases.

Am I the only one who's concerned that Apple cheapened the aluminum so it's no longer 6061 alloy? I wouldn't be surprised since they emphasized how the Pro models use 'premium' materials...

Remember iPhone 6 bendgate? They fixed it with the iPhone 6S and its use of 6061.

Wait to buy until these 12's are put to the bend test...

colours only make sense to me when not used in a case. I hate the look of my blue XR in a case having that blue shining through. And I would only go without a case when the glass doesn't break

Finally we’re back to an iPhone that can stand on itself for taking pictures.
This bugged the hell out of me since the 6 was released.
How about we have flush cameras again and no notch?

Bumper case because you were holding it wrong in 3... 2...

The point of getting rid of Ive is so that you don't have to live with his awful designs any more, stop reusing them.
