128 is a sweet spot - I had to go with the 256 for my 8-plus as 64 GB wasn't enough.

Now the bigger question is how much will they charge for the ram.

This makes sense, given how they recently announced how the price of storage has come down. I agree with others -- 128 gb is currently the sweet spot. 64 gb isn't of much use now. I'm hopeful that soon the Mac line will increase its base storage. 256 gb in the Mac Pro is laughable at that price point.

If it is true then that is great news, however, I will wait until the official announcement before I can get excited. At the same time, I want to see how the 12 will be priced as well.

About time, this should have been base storage for at least the last 3-4 years.

The 11 Pro models at 64, 256 and 512 makes no sense. Logic would dictate it starts at 128.

The move was clearly a money grab knowing 128 is probably the ideal amount for the majority of users and starting at 64 would push those users to go for the 256 for the extra £150 here in the UK.

On a positive note if the iPhone 12 has everything the rumours and leaks says it will and starts at 128gb storage at current 64gb price points it will be worth the money.

Sounds like a great lineup. Awesome how the base phone is dropping in price for the 2nd year in a row (2018 iPhone XR $749, 2019 iPhone 11 $699 and now potentially iPhone 12 $649).

By next spring it’ll probably look something like:

399 iPhone SE
499 iPhone SE Plus
599 iPhone 11
649 iPhone 12
749 iPhone 12 Max
999 iPhone 12 Pro
1099 iPhone 12 Pro Max

128 GB was always perfect for me, and 64 was not enough so I had to go the 256 GB route. This is good news!

In the same boat. Hopefully I can save £150 this year by just buying the base storage model at 128.

I suspect a lot of people are the same, which is why I see the 64 to 256 strategy as a money grab because all the 128 people would pay the extra for the 256. That’s an extra £150 per person Apple are making.

If this is how the new iPhone that is coming out this year looks like, then i am all in ! This will sell out instantly,

Lads, are we still staying up till the wee hours of the morning to secure in a Pre Order for early launch day delivery ?

its been a few years ( Currently on a 7 Plus ) since ive done this. I live on the East Coast of the USA. I always had to make sure that my order was put in at the Ass Crack of Dawn.

Is this still a thing ? if Apple does release that phone then I am all in !

thanks in advance boys !

This guy just keeps making stuff up. There's no way any iPhone will come with 128GB storage as the lowest tier.
A very big part of 's profits ($Billions) come from up selling to higher storage at an exorbitant markup

Prosser has a very good track record when it comes to leaks. His sources seem to be really close to what's actually going on at Cupertino.

Honestly, I'm probably in the minority who is okay with 64GB as I utilize iCloud for the majority of my storage.

Both my iPhone and iPad are 64GB models, and still have 30+GB of space available.

I wrote the same thing in Jan / March on Macrumors, so not really surprising. The whole point of $749 128GB iPhone 11 was to set up for this year's iPhone.

Seems like quite a year for upgrade. Qualcomm 5G, A14, FaceID 2.0,

You have to realise it isn't "lowest" tier. You can think of Apple getting rid of the iPhone 11 64GB tier, which was $699, and instead force you to buy the 128GB at $749.

I’m actually looking forward to the iPhone 12 kinda excited to be replacing my 6s. I just wish there wasn’t a notch or they kept Touch ID.

That will be 2021 March iPhone SE Plus or whatever it is.

...
Nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything. One will choose to buy the 128 at $749 rather than the 64 at $699. If you don't make that choice there are other iphones and/or androids models to choose from.
