iPhone 12 Lineup With OLED Displays Predicted to Start at $649, Breaking the $999 Barrier

Sounds pretty good. I recently ordered a 2020 SE to replace my older SE, but I'd still like something even smaller. I'll probably be tempted by the 5.4" model, but if the design leaks I've seen are accurate, it will be more difficult to use one-handed than the 2020 SE, which itself is harder to use than the old SE. The 3GS is probably the best physical design, IMO (thicker, curved back, and very easy to reach all corners of the screen with your thumb). Maybe one day they'll release a smaller phone like that. Until then, I guess I'll have to decide which compromises I'm willing to make.

iPhone 12 6.1" $749 will be winner like iPhone 11 and that $49 price bump from 11 can be justified(buyer's mind) for 5G, OLED, A14, Camera improvement, etc.
Yep! But you know people will complain about the $49 increase, but for what you are getting (5G, OLED, A14 and camera improvements), that's not a bad deal.

While I don't see it mentioned here, the rumors also suggest only the Pro versions will get the redesign with squared off edges.
Makes complete sense.

Apple's not gonna release 4 iPhones at the same time that all look the same. That'll be a marketing disaster. They're going to differentiate the models and make it clear which ones are the "latest and greatest," and that title will be reserved for the Pro models.

The iPhone 12 Pros will get the redesign, and the cheaper iPhone 12s won't.

5.4" is not a small iPhone
Riiiighttttt......... I guess no matter how good something is you can't please everyone as there are people who will complain about everything and anything.

So with 4 new phones + the new SE what older models (if any) does Apple keep in the lineup?

And if the non-pro models are also OLED will they also have smaller bezels or will they keep larger bezels as another way of making the pro models look more premium?

Are we expecting the smaller model to be in the modern form factor, with no big top and bottom bezels? That would be half a dream come true if so!

Might be interested in the 5.4" model

$649 seems reasonable.

Not sure I want another 6.1 of either flavor, after having XR for a year and a half. It's not terrible but its not the most ergonomic either, and I want my phone feeling physically different when I upgrade.

6.7" just seems excessive, but we'll see haha . as does the accommodating $1099 price.

This is going to confuse consumers, I have no doubt

Yes.

Non Pros:
2 cameras
No LiDAR
Likely aluminium

Pros:
3 cameras
LiDAR
Likely stainless steel

am I the only one who wishes they’d go back to aluminum on the Pro? Stainless steel scratched way too easy and is so much heavier.
I supposed a brushed steel would be nice.

Since apple's eye rippIng OLED screens suck, they should be cheaper than models with LCD screens.
What’s wrong with their OLED displays?

Very helpful if true. 11 Pro is a hair bigger than the 5.4” 12. 5g doesn’t really exist yet outside the big city...no worries there. Have been debating an upgrade from XR which is a great phone but always been too big, midnight green here I come.
