If the mini is the "I'm a cool kid and not a nerd" phone then a flip phone must elevate ones status to royalty 😂

Seriously the best phone is the one that works best for the person holding it. No one and I mean no adult is going to be impressed by you because of your phone. If a member of the opposite (or same) sex is impressed or interested in you because you have a fancy phone that means they're planning on getting $$$$$ out of you. Get away from that person as fast as possible!

Sure I got those "iPhone sucks" android admirer (mods don't like the other word) friends but unless they start paying my phone bill IDC what they think about my phone. It's no different than the car you drive, the house you live in, or anything else you have. If you're paying for it then get the one you like and works best for you.

The 12 mini will be the most prestigious iPhone. This is the phone to get if you want status among friends and strangers alike.

1. It’s brand new. It’s hot. Much better than a 11, or lowly X or iphone 8
2. It’s small. In fact its more status than a normal 12 or the pro models, because its smaller. It screams “I actually LIVE life instead of being glued to my phone like you nerds”
3. You can use it with one hand. Gives you more efficiency and time to do other tasks. More time = more money, freedom, happiness.

I’m getting the 12 mini blue, 256GB.

Are being serious? A phone is ‘prestigious’ and will even grant me that prestigious status among friends and strangers alike? Good grief.

Btw, your boss at Apple thinks you’re overplaying your hand a bit. Nice effort, though.

Your premise is flawed. You say "I actually LIVE life instead of being glued to my phone like you nerds”. Then you really wouldn't care about a phone at all and you wouldn't be getting one as soon as it is released. You'd still be rocking' a 6s. Now that would scream prestige among your fake friends and strangers that you "LIVE" your life and are not glued to your phone.

This is where you are wrong my friend. Who is going to buy this massive phone? Only tech enthusaists. Probably 99% of them in the tech industry. People that are stuck to their phones all day. Nerds.

Now those of us that are doing exciting things - bodybuilding, racing fast cars, skiing, surfing, boxing, titans of business, living life in the fast lane ...we don't have time for a big phone nor the worry of carrying such a massive thing around.

Its not about the price...its about who's using the product.

Essentially the iPhone 12 mini is like sitting at the cool kids table.

I'm assuming you're getting the mini because you wear skinny jeans. Your tiny penis is also a bonus*

*This is my first post. Did I get it right?

The mini is actually the least prestigious iPhone 12 because it’s the only iPhone 12 that has to do something weird with the way it displays pixels since its isn’t mathematically stable. Can’t find the source but it’s floating around here somewhere.

I don't care if it is prestigious or not. It fits my need as the best combination of size/weight and being able to use it comfortably/safely with one hand. Even if the 12 mini and the 12 Pro Max were the same price I'd choose the 12 mini.

Some good thoughts from the OP. My only quibble is that when I place this at the end of my selfie stick the mini will not draw as much attention as the larger iPhones. God forbid someone at a distance would confuse it with one of those Android ish phones. I would hate myself if someone thought I owned one of those.

Don’t worry friend, we’ve all had that worry but deep down we know it isn’t true. We will never be mistaken for Android users, the notch is our rabbit-eared friend letting others know that royalty is around.

But wait, suppose your audience just can’t see your notch? Well, I still insist that nobody mistakes an iPhone for anything but an iPhone, but lets say you’re getting the 12, yes? The glass back mixed with aluminum is not at all common in smartphones, and you still have a single bitten apple to display outwardly, provided you use an Apple case or no case.

All this to say, I think this year will be the easiest year to tell flagship iPhone users (sorry SE2) apart from everybody else.

I think it’s the bigger is better mantra. If you want THE most expensive iPhone then it’s got to be the biggest one. Don’t believe broke has anything to do with buying a 12 mini, it’s just the most unique one out of the 12 series due to its size/screen ratio.

I’m sure the devoted will largely be brandishing their gold pro max’s (then whopping a case on it) and then ritually polishing it nightly for that resale value so when the next bionic chip and minimal camera improvements arrive with the 12S/13, we can all have this conversation again.

This thread is so laughable and comments even funnier. Those who have a big screen iPhone don’t live life? Wait what? I’m currently 38 father of 3 and 1 step son. Running a very successful father & son steel distribution company in Miami. When I was younger I wanted the smaller screen iPhone. My past iPhone line up: 4S/5/5S...6 plus but hated size so went to a 6. Then 6S. Then 7. Went X. 10. XS max. Then 11 pro Max (my current device). I will be pre-ordering 12 pro Max. So as you can see I hated big screen phones. I really did. The X was a huge difference for me but no home button and smaller bezels prepared me for bigger phones. I run 3 emails on my iPhone. Running a 80,000 SQ warehouse with over 30 employees. 4 delivery drivers etc. I require and want a bigger screen iPhone for more content to view (less scrolling) Emails. Web. Etc. When I’m at home on sofa or bed I prefer to grab my phone over iPad or iMac. My kids usually use iPad the most as they aren’t at the appropriate age yet to own a phone. Guess what? I live life too. I travel. Rent cabins up north in snow weather to spend 1 week with kids. I go to Costa Rica and live on the beach for days. In the end only you can decide what device works for you. My wife has a SE2. That thing is tiny. She hates big screen iPhones. The weight. The size. When we in bed and she’s shopping for clothes, kids stuff, grocery pick up order, she always does it on my phone. That’s the only time she enjoys my phone. More content to see. Less scrolling. I respect those who have a small iPhone just like how I respect those who have big phones. It’s all preferences and options. We should be glad apple gives us consumers many size options today. Anyways live life people. Enjoy you’re families. Enjoy your ultimate device.

If someone were to opt for the 12 mini it wouldn’t mean that they’re broke lol.

Just as if someone opted for the iPhone SE it wouldn’t mean they’re broke.

I have an iPhone SE and iPhone 11 along with a XS Max that I haven’t used in a while and probably need to just sale, but I choose to use the SE 2020 more often than any of them.

Something about the form factor continues todraw me back to the SE. I’m debating on a 12 mini or possibly a 12 Pro, but I’m not sure yet.

The 12 mini is certainly not the most prestigious but I would call it the most intriguing and interesting of the iPhone 12 lineup.

With all of that said I still feel as though the regular 6.1” iPhone12 will end up being the best seller out of this entire lineup.

This may be the smartest comment in this thread. Truth is spoken via this comment. It’s all about ones needs. Such as your wife and the SE2. For some that device is sufficient and God knows it’s plenty capable performance and camera wise. Some will prefer the 5.4” mini and some will prefer the 6.7” iPhone 12 Pro Max. Personally I am similar to you and what you decide in a phone, but I went the opposite route lol. I liked and always wanted all the plus model phones. Then I got the X and XS Max and I decided I wanted smaller. I went to an iPhone 11 then when the SE 2 was launched I jumped on it launch weekend and I’ve enjoyed it every since. I still have my 11 and XS Max ... I just don’t use them as much.

Well, no one I know irl wants or likes small phones. But I couldn’t care if all they did because I don’t like small phones; even if the mini had all the best features I wouldn’t buy it. But I’m glad that all the people who wanted a small iPhone have gotten their wish, despite the circlejerking.

I don't buy a phone for the "prestige." I buy it because it suits my needs.

This is perfectly said. Some prefer larger phones and some prefer smaller. I’m on the in between I think lol... I don’t even know anymore. Though I have enjoyed the iPhone SE 2nd gen that I’ve been using.

I’ve got the 11 atm though may go for the pro max next; I personally prefer larger phones for watching content, playing games and because they’re so much easier for me to type on. Honestly if apple did some budget SE plus with basic features but a very large screen I would likely buy it.

Well, Warren Buffet had a flip phone until 2020 when he finally switched to an iPhone (after 3 years of nagging from Tim Apple). He mostly uses his new phone to make calls :s

Maybe there is some truth to this thread 🤣
