I'll pass and wait for a os update from Apple.Screen protector is messing things up, not the case. Remove it and you’ll be fine again.

It's not the screen protectors fault. If so all iPhones would have this issue and the iPhone wouldn't work fine without the case, besides Apple expect users to use both. I'm sure it's a calibrating issue with the screens sensitivity. When using both a screen protector and a case the touch is more "dull". Personally I would just leave things like they are, I'm sure there will come a fix soon. No chance in me removing the screen protector, I would rather have a scratch on the phone then on the screen.Screen protector is messing things up, not the case. Remove it and you’ll be fine again.
I can get it consistently working by swiping about 1 cm of the left side of the home bar pretty consistently as a temp fix.Hey guys I got the exact same issue. After many experiments with 2 cases and 3 pieces of tempered glass I concluded that it’s a software bug, we have to wait for a fix.
- It works perfectly with either tempered glass or case on but not both.
- When trying with both tempered glass and case on it won’t work. However, if your case is silicon try to poke another finger inside the case to touch the metal frame pf the phone, it will work properly.
I think it’s a feature to prevent accidental touches on the lock screen, but we need to wait for a fix for sure. I can live with it for the mean time.
You are correct, when i put it in my iPhone 7 Plus case and try with my finger touching the side it works, but as soon as I remove it, it doesn't. I tried the same with a latex glove and then it didn't work at all. So seems to be a conductivity issue.Hey guys I got the exact same issue. We’re touching it wrong.Very lame issue. My wife’s phone is experiencing the same thing. Noticed it right away when I tried to type in her passcode. Unresponsive and random touch response. Swipe up too inconsistent. Ripped off the screen protector. Still not perfect. Disappointing.
I know. After over a decade of iPhone guess we have to learn how to touch it right again lol. We’re touching it wrong.
Wow I took mine off and it works correctly too. It’s gotta be software though if it works after unlocked with a case on.Do you think this is hardware or software related? I just took my case off and it’s flawless now.
Software. My touch screen works perfectly once it's unlocked. My only concern is that the issue is caused by some sort of grounding issue, and the fix will cause faster battery drain.Do you think this is hardware or software related? I just took my case off and it’s flawless now.
I updated to iOS 14.2 and hard restarted the phone. I haven’t had any touch-related problems since.I have an issue with swipe up to unlock .. I thought it was the screen protector so I put another one on. Seems a bit better but still having issues.
