but you could charge the iphone and either pods or watch with one cable.I still see reverse charging from a phone as something with extremely limited utility. The phone doesn’t have oodles of excess charge to hand over.

That would be useful, esp. when traveling. I wonder how much of an impact it would have on the longevity of the battery if used regularly. Could be a great way to charge stuff with one cable thoughbut you could charge the iphone and either pods or watch with one cable.
And the solution, as evidenced by iPhone 12 & MagSafe, was just to drop efficiency requirements altogether.Two-way charging was a feature rumored for the iPhone 11 lineup ... [but] the feature was possibly abandoned because "the charging efficiency may not meet Apple's requirements."
Problem is the airtags will most likely be smaller than the ring of magnets on the back of the iPhone. If it’s the same size as the ring of magnets, it’ll be too big wouldn’t it? I wonder how is the airtag gonna stay put while you reverse charge it.This will be for AirTags.
Most likely 1 hour less based on the same comparison between the 11 Pro and 12 Pro.I wonder what the 12 Pro Max is gonna be like.
I’m one of the few people who already saw some benefit to MagSafe and I have to say the idea of using it to secure devices for piggyback charging is even better. I don’t see why people get so upset about having the choice to use something. If you think it uses too much battery... don’t use it. But if you have your AirPods on the train and they die and you have an hour till you get home and your phone was charging at your desk at work and is basically full... why not give your AirPods a boost? And without them sliding all over the place. And if you don’t want to do that, no one will punish you.
What’s the betting the hole in the back of the MagSafe wallet is for a small airtag to be inserted? Battery may only last a few days being so small but if it is charged whenever attached it wouldn’t matter.
Would explain why the wallet is not available yet. And would explain why there is a strange hole on the back of it.
Hole? Are you talking about the spot to remove cards and not stretch the wallet? What’s the betting the hole in the back of the MagSafe wallet is for a small airtag to be inserted? Battery may only last a few days being so small but if it is charged whenever attached it wouldn’t matter.

You beat me too it!Also explains why the wallet falls off so easily—so you have to buy an AirTag to find it.
They thought of everything!
I hope now.It might be for the AirTags
Charging debacle lol.The charging debacle continues..... in my day everything was charged with a cable in about an hour. No speed fluctuations. No magnets. And it happened straight out of the box.
This is actually a perfect example. I don't always remember to charge my AirPods case and have found myself on occasion wanting to recharge my AirPods all to find out that my case is dead and I'm SOL.This is not a really good example. AirPods have their own backup battery in their case.
This seem like tech for the sake of tech. Like foldable screens. It doesn't bring anything new or better in terms of user experience.
its really not imo. Set up the device as new or try another. It's been great for me.
