The LIDAR is so un-apple - adding a technology for which they have no purpose.

Interestingly with enough LIDAR phones the entire world inside and outside could be mapped though collaboration in a few months. Crazy.
LIDAR is hugely useful for autofocus and computational photography.

If the display is as strong as they claim, I’m happy. My iPhone 5 was probably the most durable iPhone I’ve owned so far, and with the iPhone 12 taking that same design and adding an even stronger display means I might be able to get away with not using a case. The bumper was *cool* at the time when the iPhone 4 antennagate issues were happening, but I’m glad they didn’t announce any bumpers today. Although, who knows if we’d need ‘em now. You’d hope they’d have learned their lesson by now..

I’m pretty annoyed that the UK Models have a different modem than the US ones. Granted there is no mmWave in the UK yet, but it’s coming eventually. Seems stupid as the US one has all the UK spectrum covered. Oh, and they are also screwing the UK even harder than normal on pricing. iPhone 12 $799/£799 Mini: $699/£699

I just watched the Apple event and I am honestly shocked with the improvements they’ve made to the regular iPhone. This being said I’m not sure how the pro is better anymore. LiDAR but why. I am still undecided but this is the first time I’m seriously thinking about not getting the Pro iPhone. It’s not that the pro iPhone is bad but rather the regular iPhone is literally 95% of it. It feels like they went overboard with the regular iPhone
