Has Apple ever released a device that truly justifies an upgrade after 12 months? I mean, I love Apple and their gear, but I'd be pretty hard pressed to justify spending that amount of money every year for a new phone.
Yeah, there is some truth to that. However, to me 5S to 6 or 7 to X were worthy upgrades after just one year. But then again, these are very few and far between and also what we meant by 'truly justifies' will remain subjective.

The LIDAR is so un-apple - adding a technology for which they have no purpose.

Interestingly with enough LIDAR phones the entire world inside and outside could be mapped though collaboration in a few months. Crazy.

They look like the iPhone X, XS, 11 with a hint of mating with iPhone 5.
Famous Apple design

That's so Apple. Remember that hard-press to right-click that no one ever used? What was it called? 3D Touch?

I see Apple still hasn't figured out what edge-to-edge display really means.

I know they like to stick a dark wallpaper on these images to disguise it, but the bezels definitely look substantially smaller on this than I had expected
Looks the same as the 11 Pro to me.

I generally prefer black or sometimes white. But that blue does look nice.

Blue one doesnt look as good as I expected, I was hoping for similar blue to the Apple Watch 6, Im going with silver this year

Just a tiny bit smaller bezels, definitely not noticeable tho + flat screen instead of "2.5D"

Edge to edge is incredibly overrated and a useless feature. Every phone I’ve used or handled with ‘edge-to-edge’ displays has had terrible issues with unintentional touches on those very edges.

Edge to edge is as useless as curved edge displays.

That green was disgusting. Just hype at the start. I think I’ve seen less than 5 myself in public
I was disappointed because it rarely looked green to me. Always dark gray or black. Seems like the regular 12 blue might be the same with how dark it is. And the Pro one looks more turquoise to me than blue.

I use a Iphone 7 and I think this phone looks great, can't wait to get the Blue version.

I use a Galaxy S8 curved from work and I hate it, I'm glad this is not edge to edge.... I always do something not intended on the Galaxy S8

Wow, seems like everything from the event has leaked! Including the HomePod mini. Wonder if there will be any surprise?

Lidar is so Apple - including a technology that people don’t understand and that Apple doesn’t fully explain because it is designed to build out a future-use product. Today, the only thing we know that the Lidar sensor on the iPad Pro does is to be able to map out rooms for AR use. But I would be willing to bet big that this is just a the easy thing to tell people and not give away what the more significant use is going to be.
