Anybody’s else had their iPhone overheat a lot lately? Mine gets really warm on any usage where I use it over a decent period of time. Really since the 14.6 noticed battery life issues

I seem to be having a bad time lately as my M1 12.9 pro had a screen defect

Is it just getting warm or showing an error message?

What exactly do you do to replicate this? Any use in the sun when it’s really hot? MagSafe charging?

I'm a fairly heavy user on my 12pm and its never gotten more than warmish. It stays much cooler than my previous Samsung S10+ which would get hot to the touch and would shut down on occasion. I've been most impressed with my 12pm......enough to jump with both feet and completely immerse myself in the ecosystem.

Are you using a case? How are you charging it?

Just getting warm no error message. I use MagSafe overnight charging but Mexer previously been an issue. In the office now where it’s cool it’s been so warm so not just outside or at home.

Never have I had an iPhone overheat like this before. I know battery drain is there for some on 14.6

MagSafe case and I charge overnight with the belkin 3 in 1 MagSafe charger

We recently had a discussion here where some members of the forum had battery issues on Macrumors - using safari. Do you have an Adblocker running?
A few days ago, my MBP was giving me warnings when Macrumors was opened in Safari...something like this website is using excessive energy. Close tab to reduce battery drain. (paraphrased)

No I don’t, think I should just avoid safari but I dunno if that’s what is causing the heat

My iPhone 12 Pro Max was getting really hot just browsing on Safari and also dropping battery like anything. I did a hard reset and it seems to be a bit better now.

To hard reset , just press vol up then vol down and then press and hold the power button until the apple logo appears.

It's this site, they are having issues with some of their ads overheating peoples devices and causing battery drain, they are working on a fix.

Fixed mine by doing this 👇 so have others, battery life is awesome again and no heat what so ever.

My mini heats up to where it feels hot to the touch through the Nomad rugged case. So, that is pretty hot. Always happens when I’m streaming podcasts on Spotify. It’s never shutdown though.

Mine over heated once with a warning when I was processing 20+ RAW files in Lightroom mobile. Since the software updates, it hasn’t done that anymore. It will get somewhat warm though.

I agree with @LFC2020. Please follow his guidelines and review the thread. You will not experience hot iPhone anymore.

I was on with Apple and they mentioned that a tempered screen protector can cause additional heat as well. Was recommended to remove mine and see

Interesting as mine did do this yesterday when in the sun
Mine does it everyday after 5 to 10 minutes in sunny warm weather. Apple engineering says” It’s expected behavior”. They won’t do anything for me.. They said no one is reporting the issue..

Ok, so I was on the phone with Verizon for an hour earlier. My 12 got hot as hell. I have an official Apple silicone case on it, and it got super hot.

I can only imagine how hot it was without the case (didn’t check because the Apple cases this year are reportedly not snug to begin with. Trying not to take it off unless absolutely necessary).

So it’s not this website making it hot.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
