Mine has some scratches on frame also but J now noticed it. I got my phone on Nov 14, wondering if they will exchange it since it has been a while.
How was your phone purchased? full price? carrier installment? If it's the carrier installment, you only get 14 days regardless of the holiday return period. If you purchased the phone right, it then qualifies for a extended return policy and you have till the 8th of January to initiate it.

If you do get it exchanged, always check your device before using to make sure everything is fine. However, just know that even if you do get it replaced, there could be other issues that may arise. YMMV.

Then yea you should be able to request a label, you can do it via your web order on apple.com and initiate a return, once they receive it, you will get a refund and you can rebuy. Because you did the trade in, you will get the difference refunded in a gift card.

They booked me a genius bar, so hopefully I can exchange it on the spot 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Yea good luck. I'm not sure if the Genius Bar will do a replacement if it's a cosmetic issue. I believe they only do replacements for hardware failures. Unless you get a really nice tech specialist. They might considered as out of warranty replacement if you so choose to replace it because of a cosmetic issue.

Cool. However, when the exchanged it was it the phone only? or did they replace everything? Was it in a white box? Does your model number start with "N"? or is it "M"?

It was basically another brand new iphone. They literally just gave me another brand new sealed box. And I only gave them just the phone itself, no cable, no box or anything.
 
Just opened my iphone 12 pro max gold and the frame is scratched on the area above the charger port out of the box. It's an area that probably got scratched during manufacturing as it's the thin frame area across the band . My finger nails do catch it unfortunately.

I thought the gold color is supposed to be the toughest one this generation..

Damn, That's got to suck. Things like this would definitely bug me and would be an immediate return and definitely not a keeper in my books., despite that the screen is perfect. But then of course I understand that even if you do return it and get a new one, the new one could potentially have other issues as well.

Shall I open a case and return it or just return and rebuy? As for the screen I think it might be a placebo effect if I can be honest with you.

Personally, it's up to you if you can live up with that damage that came out like that. I would just return it and rebuy a new one.

On a brighter note , you know what my wife said? She told me I deserved it for choosing Gold. 😭😂. The pacific blue one I bought her two weeks ago is great.

You should have no issues of doing that. Just order another one for pick up and return at the same time. I have done this before and no questions asked. If you choose a different color, they may not ask but if you choose the same color, they may just ask you.

That's great. Is your store an express pick up only store? As in they have 4 check in windows? You could open it up there but if your store is a store front express pick up only setting store, then you won't be able to do an exchange, only online orders and pick ups. Hope for the best. Good luck
