I share your same sentiment but the reality is most people don’t care about a new iPhone every year. The 13 will be more or less the same as the 12 with a few minor changes the average consumer won’t care about.
i agree completely, but i always tell my friends — just wait a couple of months and you'll get a better phone. not that the one you can get now is bad, but it's always nice to get an upgraded device. unless you lost your phone)

iPhone Pro Max is the best iPhone Apple has ever made, period.
Except it doesn’t fit in my pocket which kinda defeats the purpose of a mobile device in my opinion. But then again, most of the people I know and see with a Max are always on it so there is never a need to put it in their pocket. I guess I just view the world differently than Max users

I guess people think bigger is better. But I just don't get the affinity for giant phones; that's what tablets are for.

i have an iPad Air 4 but I barely use it cuz it’s just more convenient to use the Max for some reason. Also the lack of WhatsApp and Instagram for iPad makes it annoying to keep using two devices. Even when I am on my laptop I keep picking up my iPhone. Habit I guess

the Max also fits perfectly fine in my pockets 🤷🏼‍♂️ Including gym shorts

For women, there's no practical difference in phone sizes since it gets stuffed in a purse anyway. At least a bigger phone is easier to find in your purse than a smaller phone.

Interesting that people are buying the 12 Pro Max (or really any 12 series) this close to a new iPhone launch.

My wife (and MacRumors forums) has convinced me to wait for the 13 and not give up my 12 mini so soon. I really want a bigger screen and longer battery life. Plus, the screen itself is much nicer (same screen, just brighter) on the 12 Pro Max.

Any chance we will see M1 in the next Pro series?
m1 will never go into a iphone.

The latest research from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shows that all four iPhone 12 models accounted for 63% of total iPhone sales in the United States in the quarter ending June 2021.

The highest-end iPhone 12 Pro Max tied with the year-old iPhone 11 for the largest share of any single model at 23%, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone XR had the smallest share, each at 5%, according to CIRP. As pandemic-related restrictions ease in the United States, the Chicago-based research firm said increased consumer spending correlated with consumers shifting to more expensive iPhone models.

"Apple did very well as it emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic," said Josh Lowitz, a CIRP co-founder. "Increased consumer spending correlated with consumers shifting to more expensive iPhone models as they retired older phones and shopped more at Apple's own retail locations to buy those iPhones."

The shift to more expensive models resulted in the iPhone's average selling price in the United States rising to $869 in the June 2021 quarter, added Lowitz.

The research note also indicates that Apple experienced a significant increase in iPhone sales through its retail operations, including both physical stores and online. In the June 2021 quarter, 27% of iPhone sales in the United States were completed through Apple, compared to a previous high of 21% in September 2020, according to CIRP.

CIRP bases its findings on its survey of 500 customers in the United States who purchased an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch in the April-June 2021 period.

Clearly not people who’re tech savvy, I’d say.

I wouldn’t buy an iPhone, just two months away from the unveiling of the new models.

It’s for this reason that I’m holding out for the new MBP before I buy my new laptop.

That chart is pretty useless. It's comparing each quarter to 100% of their sales, which make it look like they are selling more of one thing when that's not what the chart shows.

Wait, every time I read comments on here saying the Mini is the best thing to ever come out of Apple, in the history of Apple, I thought would be at the top of the list, but the Max is apparently doing all the heavy lifting for the iPhone line?

I guess I'm in the "minority" of people who loves their 12 Pro Max.

That’s not true for all women. I know women who love the mini because they can finally buy a phone that fits in their pockets again.
If you find women's clothing that has pockets please post the manufacturer. It's unbelievably difficult to find women's clothing with pockets, so if your friends know some share the knowledge.

It's crazy how hard it is to find pockets for women's clothes. For kids, it's practically impossible. It's really weird. Is this a US-only thing or are the lack of women's pockets a worldwide phenomenon?

Agreed. Haven't they been just dropped the previous year Pro version so people don't buy it at a cheaper price?

The thing is, i would consider buying the iphone mini or the smaller iphone pro, but they always sneak something in the pro max version that i want. If the cameras were the same in all form factors, I would get the smaller one.
