I'm somewhat shocked. The regular Pro is silly unless you just like lifting a heavier phone.
I felt this way after the keynote but there's quite a few upgrades going from the 12 to 12 Pro. Better camera set up, night mode on the front camera, 6GB of RAM vs 4GB, better (and brighter) OLED displays provided by Samsung instead of BOE.

I decided to wait for the mini as I want the smaller form factor like my 6s. If I feel it’s too small I’ll get the 12 pro later.

I have two pros ordered in Pacific Blue. I ordered the first one and clicked standard shipping, but was disappointed in the delivery date of 11/3-11/6. Then ordered a 2nd one with $8.00 express shipping which they say will be delivered 10/30-11/4. Sigh. I did not know it would have been faster if I clicked "pick up at store" Store is 45 minutes away but I would have done that. I'll see which one actually gets here first and cancel the other order I suppose. I do not need two of them. I would have gone to the store if only for seeing the other colors, as I also wanted to see the gold one.

Lol, won't be buying that hideous case. Thank you.

Take a look at the Mous “clarity” cases. More impact protection than the Apple clear case and no magnet ring. I’ve used the Mous cases on my last 2 or 3 phones, all of which have been saved from drops on several occasions (mostly 3-4 feet when getting out of a vehicle).

Does the clear iPhone 12 case actually have that crappy O- design on the back? Or is it just a marketing thing telling use it's mag safe compatible? Would love a clear case but not with that hideous design on the back.
Yeah, it's there. There are other third party clear cases without the ring, but I'm sure it would render magsafe use useless or inefficient.

I find it's pretty widespread in the US. Most hotels I visit don't even have a 13th floor :D
It’s such a medieval notion, the idea that the use of a number could influence events. I sincerely hope that the, presumably, rational scientists and engineers at Apple don’t avoid using 13 for such a daft reason. They didn’t with iOS 13, so let‘s hope not.

*and more ram (6 GB to 4 GB), better camera set, brighter screen (in terms of peak nits, 800 to 625 nits), 4x zoom range compared to 2x, Dolby HDR video recording at 60 fps instead of 30...

The way I see it, 128 GB starting storage for the pro puts it $150 above the 128 GB 12. So if you find $150 in value in those upgrades, it's worth it.

Or you know if you need 512gb of storage.

Get ready for the whiny/grumpy threads of 'anyone recieved their pre-order phone?','i've not recieved my phone yet, am very annoyed','Apple messed up my order, how do i get my phone','Apple sent me the wrong iphone, how do i send it back' or 'Apple sent me the wrong iphone but getting new one will take 3 weeks, shall i keep it?'.

Such threads happened the last time the iphone was released and the time before that and the time before that. Us humans are so predictable :)

I guess with iOS though, its software, which is up to the consumer to download or not, for free. With new hardware, you're asking them to part with their money for it...I would bet that there are more 'odd' people out there than we think that would skip it, just because of the number 13.

You do know that there is no such thing as a transparent metal or magnet right?

If you don't want a case that attaches magnetically, then yes there are plenty of clear cases. But until the year 2310 when transparent metals and magnets may be widely available you'll need to settle for the "design."

I'm upset that T-Mobile started preorders early. At 7:45am EST (15 minutes before scheduled lunch), the gold 256 and 512gb were sold out. I settled for blue, but intend on returning it on the 20th day to exchange for the Pro Max.

What logical reason is there that demand is so high for this iteration? I mean everything they updated gets updated yearly, the chip, the screen..etc.
I would imagine 5g is partially responsible as well, everyone wants to see the 5g iPhone. I have an X so I was interested because im upgrading from that. Ill probably keep this for 3 years as well.
