So Apple was thinking: "We know our screens are too large for one-handed use, thus we must add a feature that helps with that even though we know that basically no one will use it, but at least out conscience will be clear because we gave people an out"?

That sounds about right.

Nobody in their right mind would design such a clunky feature if they thought that a lot of people would be forced to use it.

So they designed it... so nobody would use it? I'm not really following your logic at this point but let's move on.

Edge to edge display? Ummm...yes, please!
Yeah, but no TouchID

I'm disappointed that there's no TouchID sensor (unless it's in the screen...) but at least the size is much closer to the original SE than any other recent phone. I switched to Android purely because the Sony XZ1 Compact was the closest thing in size to the SE. I might live with FaceID for a new small phone.

Registered because I'm always lurking multiple Apple rumor sites but never chime in on this topic. Fellow daily iPhone SE1 user & lover here. Holding strong in the knowledge that the iPhone 5S was the pinnacle of premium iPhones. I still keep mine in the closet as a shrine. The SE1 works, but feels lower quality in the hand compared to the 5S, so I will henceforth refer to the greatest smartphone ever built as the 5S.

What we need is bezelless iPhone 5S with in-screen or power button TouchID and smaller FaceID sensor set. I could live without FaceID but I know they'd never let it out the door without it.

Bezelless iPhone 5S form factor would be a 5" screen. Which is the perfect size for a "small" in any market where you're selling things for human beings. You know, small, medium, and large.

For the haters, the truth is that people don't dislike small & convenient, they love the Watch. I think it's Apple that knows selling phones for a future date when humans evolve clown hands, puts people in a situation where they HAVE to have the Watch in tandem to function in society. Whipping out the old 11 Pro Max (my spouse has one) to get on a bus, train, or pay at 7-Eleven is a joke. Fraught with peril as you could easily drop it.

For the average suburbanite or country boy, sure, the large phones seem to have no pitfall. These haters just don't get it and never will. The jumbotron works just fine in the ideal environment.

Here's to someday seeing a bezelless 5" 5S-quality smartphone! I'll be ordering an iPhone 12 5.4" as a successor to my SE1.

Photos of iPhone 12 on compare list are incorrect.
iPhone 12 only 2 camera, not 3.

It's because it was based on rumor, or maybe just a dummy for phone case makers, so the amount of cameras aren't that important.

I’m not sure what your point is, or what evidence you think you have for it. The 6.1/6.5 Pro are equal in spec. They’re only separated by $100. So which one sells better?

Larger, more feature-rich phones cost more to make, so they sell for more. I’m not sure it’s any more complicated than that.
ops, here, again, Apple customers complaining that you have to buy the larger size in order to have best specs.
