Thanks so much appreciate it..I realize I have been turning the phone "Off" the wrong way which might explain the battery drain. Instead of powering it off by pressing the power and the volume button ive been going into settings and "Shutting down the iphone" maybe thats why it drains a little bit so tonight will be shutting it off the right way to see if that makes any difference
Also, another question, I have the 2018 ipad pro, and it came with a charger, it looks exactly like the 20W charger apple is selling for 19.99..I was chatting with apple and the lady said I should NOT use the charger I have now, that it wont charge as fast as the 19.99 one that that one is newer and works with the iphones..is that true..I did notice when I first charged up the iphone(When I received it it was around 70 percent charged, took over an hour and a half to bring it to 100 percent charged) should I use the charger I have now(And use the cable the phone came with) or buy the charger from apple
it will always take longer to charge from 70-100 than 0-70 due to the phone ensuring that the battery remains in optimal condition.

the ipad pro 2018 charger looks to be capped at 18w whereas the standalone apple charger thats being sold now is 20w so yeah it will charge faster. the difference in charging time wont be earth shattering though. maybe good to get the new charger to have an extra charging brick and place it somewhere convenient in the house for charging purposes. doesnt hurt to have an extra one but if you wanna save money no need for the apple charger

that makes sense..yeah cause I was looking at the charger I have now and I notice no wattage is posted..but the one online says 20W so I will get it but want to be sure Im getting the right one..I prefer target since they have a great return policy is this the one

it says compatible with iphone 12, but also shows all of the previous ipads so not sure..if its not the same one I will buy it from apple directly

just want to make sure Im buying the right one
I just dont want to use what I have now if its hurting the iphone if it is Id prefer getting one that will work for it..and I had no idea that just by going into general, shut down that I wasn't really shutting down the iphone perhaps that is why the battery drained a little bit? Will do the proper shut down tonight, volume plus power button and see if it makes a difference

as long as you're buying official apple chargers it won't hurt your battery (knockoff 3rd party batteries can however, with the exception of major 3rd party brands like anker). yeah definitely get it. i always go official apple products when it comes to charging accessories

awesome will do..so the one I posted above from target.com is that the right one? It does NOT mention the iphone 13 but maybe they did not update their systems about additional products it works with..target has a better return policy compared to apple with apple its only 14 days with target its extended..unless apple is doing something now for the holidays as far as their return policy(In case the item is defective or something)

yes thats the right one. the target website is just not updated to reflect the latest iphone 13 release.

Great will just buy it from target since their return policy is much better than apple. and on that charger it will say on the back of it that its 20W..weird thing is I always thought my 2018 ipad pro had a 20W charger usb-c I guess I was wrong cause on the back it does not mention wattage

I am convinced that it is the Promotion display that is making the battery last as long as it is. Throttling down to 10hz for static displays is almost like the always-on for the watch, and the display is the big user when it comes to battery life. I would love to see a review where they put on a 3-4 hour movie on both the 12PM and the 13PM and check battery after that sort of use.

Right now I am not recharging until the battery gets down to 25% and it is taking 50+ hours.

Edit: I had not watched the review and now I see they did basically that.

Imagine running the same test again in low power mode, what the battery life would be with only using the 4 efficient cores. LOL. That would be bonkers. I was just thinking about this. The A15 has twice the amount of system cache and it uses 8-channel memory. This is probably why the A15 is so good only using its 4 efficient cores.

I am not really convinced that the ProMotion display is the key factor. In that 13 vs 13 Pro battery test video is shows that the ProMotion display is not a deciding factor. I think it is more to do with the power efficiency of the A15 and the better power efficiency of the GPU. Apples 4 efficiency cores are very powerful as demonstrated by the linked video below. I think iOS for probably 90% or more does not even use the 2 performance cores. Since most of what you use a phone for involves the display, I think the GPU plays a very big role.

If you have not seen this video it demonstrates how powerful just the 4 efficiency cores in the A15 are. It is insane.

Hi, why is my screen OFF time so big? I've looked thru the posts and most of the time, people's screen off time is only around 1hr. Is my time normal?

iPhone 13 pro max, battery still at around 40% at 11pm. Was gonna try not to charge the phone overnight but with do not disturb on or bedtime, battery drained around 3-5% within 3 hours, I woke up around 2am and found the phone at 35% coz I forgot to close apps.

I still love the battery tho, wondering how people with the pro max get 2 days! Had this phone for 5 days already

That is just insane battery life on the 13 Pro Max. I think Apple just turned everything on its head. That A15 is such a beast and incredible battery life at the same time. Usually you sacrifice now for the other. The battery in the 13 Pro Max is big but not huge.
Apparently only apple ramps down their screens to 10hz when higher refresh rate isn’t needed, strange why these android phones don’t do that.

The screen on-time and the screen off-time is just a running total. It does not take into account the you charged last. I would just ignore. If you want an accurate screen on-time, manual calculate that from each of the bars in the graph since you took the phone off the charger. That is what I do.

When I calculate the graphs I get way more sot than when I click on last 10 days + select today

According to information I have been looking at the S21 has a adaptive 10Hz to 120Hz display.

Keep in mind that those are continues numbers that don't reset after charge cycle. If you notice that there is screen on-time bars when you are charging. Those are all a running total. That is at least the way I understand it. I could be wrong.
