Guess you’re not the kind who plays around with their iPhone after an update. I don’t know what the threshold is but yeah, I’ve seen it a few times over the years.
I think it’s iOSs way of saying “Get a life!”?‍♂️
That message finally went away after several hours last night. I have been using iPhones since the iPhone 4S, it is odd that I have not see that message in all the iOS versions I have used.

iPhone 13 Pro Max
iOS 15.2.1
4:11, 31% battery usage. There does not seem to be any regression in battery life with 15.2.1.

iPhone 13 Pro Max
iOS 15.2.1
6:17, 48% battery used. This is a follow on to my last battery usage which was 4:11, 31% battery used.

I combined the battery usage from my last post with the current battery usage. The combined battery usage chart is below. This gives a better picture of my battery life for a greater period of time. These posts only capture a small window of time.

And 15.2.1 really has not regressed in terms of battery life for me.

I might have to do a reset as even with the update that's just come through my phone was dead by 22.00. with an awful 2 hours, 42 mins screen time

After testing since... weeks now? I have come to some conclusions. It is hard to compare battery life, even with your own results from another day because you don't use it every day in the same way.
I found out that my main battery drain is cellular data and WIFI. In my bedroom I have 3 bars of 5G and 4 bars of WIFI. As long as I'm holding the phone. When I put it on the desk beside the bed, where it is every night, it seems to have less reception leading to overnight battery drain. It just keeps jumping between LTE and 5G, and WIFI is going on and off. I assume that Apple is overreporting reception in the lower areas, like 4 bars is super, 3 bars is good, 2 bars is more like 1 bar and 1 bar is no reception at all causing jumping between 3G, LTE, 5G.
I've made a shortcut for the night and one for the day. When I go to bed I click the shortcut, which is turning battery saving mode on, cellular data off, WIFI on, WIFI calls on, so I can be called during night, Bluetooth off. Battery life has improved beyond expectations since then, leading to 3-5 hours of usage and still having 50% of battery after 24 hours.

I had the same problem. Espresso house app was draining and running in background 24hours. I deleted and battery is good now.

Its little problem with snapchat app.

Usage could be 54minutes but background actvity is also something around 50minutes..

Otherwise with my usage i get one hour screen time every 10% of battery.

I agree, comparing drain and tracking down reasons may just be too complex.

Just wanted to mention three things that I've noticed which could be related to battery drain. Maybe.
  • On one day, Reminders appeared with high battery impact % during quite a few hours. Force quit the app and it no longer showed up on list since. ??
  • Had my iPhone using WiFi Sync to my Mac. Disabled this as a troubleshooting step, however both coconutBattery and iMazing still seem able to connect to the iPhone. Is this contributing to ??
  • Apps continue to appear in battery list with 'background activity' even though Background App Refresh is disabled.

I found out that these are two different things:
Background activity is like if you are listening to Spotify although you aren't actively using your phone. You can still listen to the music.

Background app refresh is if you open the Twitter app and all the new data since your last visit is already there.

I have had a case where a rogue app starts and runs in the background. I had the case where the Apple Maps app started and was running in the background for over 7 hours. I did a hard reset and that seemed to solve it. This is running iOS 15.2.1.

For me its the opposite, since 15.3 my 13 pro max is very bad in standby mode. It lose 8% in 4 hours or 16% in 8 hours. I just did a hard reset, hope that will fix this.

I unplugged my device (13 Pro) at 8 AM, came to the office, and used Wi-FI, and already my battery is at 93% - 7% for about 3h seems not good for me, especially since I didn't change anything related to the usage of my phone. I'm thinking of making a hard reset of all settings? Would that help? I also noticed that since my BH dropped to 99% last week, something is not right with the battery...

Did you use the phone for 3 hours and only lost 7%? My 13 Pro consumes way more than that. But if you mean 3 hours of standby time with little usage than it might be too much, especially considering that the first 5% charge loss is "masked" to you and you are probably at 89/90% in reality

Light usage of social media apps and Revolut.. in-fact, now it's 2:20 PM, used GPS for like 10-15 minutes, Safari and MS Teams all on 5G and now I have 82% left (according to the phone's stats - 1h 32m screen-on and 10m of screen-off time). I'm really considering a hard reset of all settings and set the phone as new? Will this help?

Can you post a 24-hour battery usage chart with “SHOW ACTIVITY” selected to show the app times (not percentages).

Looks similar to my usage, "slope" of graph wise. I observe two kinds of 13 Pro out there. Outstanding ones, which can make 8/10 hours of screen time, and average ones like ours, which can do 5/7 hours of screen time on average per day. This may or may be not linked with app usage, but I don't think so. I tried everything. Shame that our phones aren't bad enough to be considered faulty, but to be fair I didn't contact Apple yet

I kinda agree with you mate. I'm not a battery freak (or at least I'm no longer) but as soon as I noticed the BH drain to 99% something really happened with my battery. On an average day, I use my phone a maximum of 2 to 3 (speaking on work weeks). I'm going to bed around 23:30-00:00 and I have around 40 to 50% - which on paper looks absolutely amazing, but for a light usage over the, I expected a little more. For now, I'll see how the battery will perform in the next days/weeks and If something dramatic happens, I'll probably try with a hard reset (bad for me, we don't have an official Apple Store in Bulgaria).

Yeah it can't hurt. Anyway I did everything. DFU reset, hard reset, reset all setting, reinstall, start from fresh with no backup, with backup etc., the result never changes, it's always kinda like this.

One thing I never found anywhere is if anyone with our "version" of 13 Pro ever got it replaced and the new one was better, with the same usage.

I have an Apple Store at 100km of distance so still not the best

If you have already gone through and did a setup as new device and the battery drain was still bad, then you could have a good case to get your phone replaced under warranty. If you Apple Care you could get a express real;acement after Apple Support has verified what is happening with your phone.

From 7am to 3pm on the 1/28 didi you use Messenger, Google Map, Instagram, Facebook?

It looks like from 6pm to 12am on 1/27 you had about 3:25, used about 40% battery. Estimate would be about 8:30, 100% battery used. From 7am to 4pm on 1/28 you had 3:30, used about 23% battery, Estimate of about 15:00 with 100% battery used.

You battery life was much better from 7am to 4pm on 1/28 vs 6pm to 12am on 1/27. It looks like the issue could be associated with apps that you are using.
